of EC1 and its adaptation for the cultural and artistic purposes

•City Council Resolution No. XXX/588/08 of 09.04.2008r. on the

establishment and the statute of a cultural institution under the name "EC1 Lodz-City of Culture. "

•Local government cultural institution was created under a contract entered

into between the City of Lodz and the Foundation of World Art in Lodz. The mission of the institution is:Redevelopment EC1 Coordination of project work NCL

•The tasks of the EC 1 City of Culture are, among other things-

• Implementing the concept of the "underground city

• Feasibility study for the area of the "underground city "

• Prepare a schedule and perform all real time analysis of the project

• The development of functional programs - useful for individual objects and spaces which are part of the whole project

•Analyzes the impact of the project, both in terms of social and economic

•Completing the analysis of the project links to the strategy Piotrowska Street


The tasks of the EC 1 City of Culture are also:

•Analyzes the development of public spaces in the area, which includes draft

•Analysis of the creatures in the area of culture

•Analysis of communications solutions for the project

•Coordination of activities of partners in order to achieve synergies

•Factory Tunnel Lodz - Lodz Kaliska - preparing pre-feasibility study

•PR and marketing activities aimed at the widest possible information about the project and the construction, development and management of the project image

•Coordination and supervision of the various stages of the investment


New Center of Lodz

The project "New Center of Lodz" is part of the urban planning program, the so-called brownfield sites. local revitalization program. It consists in building a new center of town, near railway station and the historic boat Factory CHP EC1.Interesting architecture, cultural events attract a diverse service and accessibility have a chance to transform the boat into an attractive metropolis.

Land with an area of 90 hectares, on which the creation of Lodz New Centre has been divided into two zones: the first (30 ha) will dominate the cultural and artistic feature in the second (60 hectares) will be implemented primarily commercial ventures.

Multimodal hub Lodz - Fabryczna - A new communication system

One of the key elements of the New Centre of Łódź will be creation of a multi-modal hub, whose heart will be moved underground and equipped to handle the high speed railway station Łódź Factory.

The proposed hub will combine the functions of urban transport, regional and international level.

Platforms at train station will be located at 16.5 m below ground level, while the positions for long-distance buses will be located at 8 m below ground level. At the same level will operate a network of underground streets.
