1.1. Purpose of this document.

The purpose of this document is to outline the EasyBook 2000bookmaking application, along with related software and hardwareconsidered important in operating a successful computerisedbookmaking service.

Provided in this document are screen layouts, options and pricingdetails that should provide enough information for you to make aninformed decision in relation to the use of bookmaking software.

2. Software.

2.1. Easy Book 2000

2.1.1. What is EasyBook 2000.

EasyBook 2000 is a Windows? based bookmaking applicationcurrently used by over 100 bookmakers Australia wide.

The main objective of the application is to provide a stableoperating environment which requires minimal support, whileallowing the bookmaker to easily manage not only the on-coursetasks of being a bookmaker, but also the off-course tasks ofperformance analysis and client management.

The early version of the software was released in 1999 withcontinual enhancements being added based on either userrecommendations or changes in the bookmaking environment tobe the leading bookmaking application in Australia today.

2.1.2. Key Features.

Some of the key features of the EasyBook 2000 softwareapplication include:

? Windows 95, 98, Me, Xp, NT and Windows 2000Compatible.

? Utilises the latest software development tools andtechniques, which places EasyBook 2000 well inrelation to future technology advances.

? No complex hardware configurations required.? Multi-Venue capabilities.? Ability to load fields from various sites such as

Racing Victoria, Harness Racing Website, NSW TABand database services such as Southcoast Racing.

? Comprehensive account facilities.? Detailed cash book features, including the ability to

handle multiple bags.? Numerous report options.? Fully approved by racing authorities.? Option to use Payout Scanners



2.1.3. Betting Types.

The software provides the following bet types:

? Win.? Each Way.? Place.? Concession.

? Top Fluctuation betting.? Starting Price bets.? Bets with Starting Price Guarantee.? Bets to Win specified amounts.? Bets at Tote Prices.? Special quote bets, such as $1,050 to $100 (i.e.

10½ to 1).? Separate Win/Place bets (Such as $100 by $50)



2.1.4. Screen Layouts

The software utilises two separate screen layouts. The use ofeach layout is dependant on the individual requirements of thebookmaker.

1. Version 4 Layout.

2.1.5. Application Reports.

Numerous report options are available to users. These reportshave been developed based on user and administrativerequirements over the past 4 years and should prove more thanadequate for most bookmaking operations.

Some of the default system reports include:? Profit and Loss Report? Turnover Report.? Race Ledgers.? Race Liability reports.



? Client transaction reports.? Client Betting Summary Reports.? Client Payment Summary Reports.? Client Balances.? Bet Back Reports.? Comprehensive Cash Book Report.

2.1.6. Multi-User Capabilities.

The application has the option to be used on multiple computerslinked to a single server therefore allowing streamlined control oftrue race liabilities. By doing this, bets placed on any of thecomputers are relayed back to a control point, so the actualliability on each runner is known immediately.

An example of such a setup is that used by COXBET in Victoria,where up to eight computers are linked during a meeting to allowthe bookmaker to make informed decisions based on actualcurrent information.

Setting up the Multi-User version is rather simple once thenetworking is in place.

2.1.7. Electronic Display Boards.

The option exists to use electronic display boards directly linked tothe computer system allowing prices to be transferred fromEasyBook 2000 to the display board. These boards offer hugeadvantages in comparison to traditional betting boards dependingon the type of betting rings they are to be used in.

2.2. Easy Book Printing Software.

The Easy Book Printing Software allows users to print fieldsheets for betting boards using a comprehensive list of designformats.

This software is extremely handy for users who are spending toomuch time hand writing the sheets for boards, or those userscurrently paying too much for printed sheets from their existingsuppliers.

The software is extremely easy to use, and reports can bedesigned for most board types.



2.3. Easy Book Client Management Software.

The Easy Book Client Manager is a comprehensive applicationto analysis the performance of your client accounts.

The software provides a seamless link with the Easy Book 2000application. Some of the key features of the software are theability to filter client transactions and chart performance overtime.



2.4. Bookmakers Online Service.

The Bookmakers Online Software allows access, whereapproved, to the Raceday pricing service (formally known as theAustralian Pricing Network APN).

This provides the user of EasyBook 2000 to a feed of pricingand other information directly into the bookmaking application,thus reducing the requirement to input odds for each runner.

This service provides the following features:

? Access to Fluctuation changes before they appear on theOn-Course Monitors. Usually around 2 seconds before tothe Televisions.

? Ability to flag runners to keep “under the odds”, thusautomatically adjusting price movements based on a pre-determined flag.

? Access to Information such as deductions, racingnotification, past the post, protest details, jockey changesand correct weight.



3 Hardware.

3.1 Computer Specifications.

The following are the recommended minimum systemrequirements to effectively run EasyBook 2000.

? Computer with a Pentium® 400mhz processor or higher.? Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, Xp or Windows 2000.? 64mb of Random Access Memory (RAM).? 25mb of free hard disk space.? 800 by 600 Display Screen.? Receipt Printer (Preferably Epson TM-T88II)? Standard Keyboard or POS keyboard.

The minimum specification is generally relative to a computeraged up to 4 years old.

As indicated in the attached price list, used laptops are availableat very competitive prices. These laptops have been purchasedspecifically with Easybook 2000 in mind.

3.2 Ticket Printer.

The recommended ticket printer for EasyBook 2000 is the EpsonTM-T88iii Receipt Printer. This printer is the quickest receiptprinter presently available for the bookmaking software



3.3 Keyboards.

EasyBook 2000 allows users to use two types of keyboards.

1. Standard Keyboard.

An everyday computer keyboard, which used stick onlabels, can be used for the EasyBook software. Thesekeyboards are very cheap and available at any computerstore.

2. Pre-Configured Programmable Keyboard.

A Point of Sale keyboard that is designed specifically forEasyBook 2000 is available.

The keyboard is setup to allow most transactions to becompleted with minimal keystrokes; this results in fewererrors and faster processing.

The majority of users use these keyboards as theysimplify the transaction process and assist thebookmaking operation run smoother.



3.4 Scanners.

To simplify the payment of ticket, EasyBook 2000 allows users theoption of using a barcode scanner.

The scanner reads a barcode located on the betting ticket whenpresented for collection, EasyBook 2000 then tells user how muchis to be paid to the punter. Appropriate adjustments are thenmade to the bag cash totals to ensure the balances are correct.

The use of barcode scanners also assists with common taskssuch as end of day processing, cancelling tickets and thehandling of the unpaid ticket register.
