On Sunday, April 28, please stay for lunch im- mediately after the 11:15 a.m. worship service. The meal will be free. We will eat in the Christian Life Center. In addition to sharing fellowship, the purpose of this meal is to show a video and ask you to support our “Toward 2020” capital campaign. Have you ever had the heating or air conditioning at your house stop working? Or, have you realized your system is on the downhill slide and every time you get ready to have com- pany you worry it will simply grind to a halt. That’s where we are with the heat and air in our sanctuary. We’ve been nursing it along, but it’s just a matter of time before it fails. And we don’t want it to fail during a wedding, or funeral, or worship. Similarly, have you ever faced the dilemma of inviting someone to your home only to realize upon that person’s arrival that the steps leading up to your house and their mobility limitations present a big problem? Regrettably, the many steps leading to the Eastminster sanctuary make that occurrence all too common. I saw it again this past Saturday at a funeral as a family, not knowing our campus, was preparing to carry a family member up some steps. By now you should have received a brochure explaining the opportunity that is before us: to take the wonderful facilities that have been entrusted to us and to update and upgrade them for future generations, as well as for ourselves. The big ticket items of this campaign are: 1) new heating and air conditioning; 2) a new men’s restroom and a renovated women’s facility; 3) an elevator for accessibility; 4) a porte-cochere (covered drop off) for inclement weather; 5) re-wiring the sanctuary for improved safety; 6) reconfiguring the sanctuary chan- cel; 7) enhancing Jubilee worship and; 8) tithing, giving ten-percent of the capital campaign funds for God’s work in this community and beyond. Of course, as when the heat and air has to be replaced in our homes, there is a cost. For us the estimate to accomplish what the Session has approved is $3 million. That is a great deal of money, but as one of you pointed out to me, if each of our 900 families would step up to help meet this challenge by giving at least $3,333.00 over the three years of the campaign, the need would be met. Scripture, of course, encourages us to give as we have been prospered and some of us can give more. Please come to lunch April 28 and help us plan by registering your attendance. To RSVP you can call 256-1654; email [email protected] or visit www.eastminsterpres. org and follow the instructions. Then, on May 19, Pentecost Sunday, I pray you will make a tangible commitment to join in God’s work in this place by pledging to support this effort. Please RSVP for April 28 now, before you forget! See you Sunday, Brad

Dear Eastminster Family,

You are invited to lunch. On Sunday, April 28, please stay for lunch im-mediately after the 11:15 a.m. worship service. The meal will be free. We will eat in the Christian Life Center. In addition to sharing fellowship, the purpose of this meal is to show a video and ask you to support our “Toward 2020” capital campaign.

Have you ever had the heating or air conditioning at your house stop working? Or, have you realized your system is on the downhill slide and every time you get ready to have com-pany you worry it will simply grind to a halt.

The big ticket items of this campaign are: 1) new heating and air conditioning; 2) a new men’s restroom and a renovated women’s facility; 3) an elevator for accessibility; 4) a porte-cochere (covered drop off) for inclement weather; 5) re-wiring the sanctuary for improved safety; 6) reconfiguring the sanctuary chan-cel; 7) enhancing Jubilee worship and; 8) tithing, giving ten-percent of the capital campaign funds for God’s work in this community and beyond.
