As part of the greater Philadelphia area, Eastern MontgomeryCounty embraces its truly envious location. The county sits just a

few miles north of City Center Philadelphia. This strategic positionprovides both individuals and businesses various outlets for efficienttransportation, including well-maintained highway systems, railways,airports and waterways.

Eastern Montgomery County features avibrant cultural landscape that includes

outstanding musical and theatricalproductions, unique art galleries, museumsand resources that offer a long list ofprogramming that runs the gamut of artisticmedia.

The Abington Art Center (AAC) is anessential part of the local culture scene.Housed within the historic AlverthorpeManor, the AAC sits on an expansive 27-acrecampus in Jenkintown. Within the art center,visitors enjoy a variety of rotating exhibits,workshops, classes and events. Popular eventsinclude the Saturday morning Coffee Break,where guests can meet with the exhibiting

artists at the center, and the popular summerconcert series.

Surrounding the art center is a fascinatingsculpture park, providing visitors a chance toexperience the fusion of nature and art. Thiscontinually rotating outdoor museumdisplays a collection of semi-permanent,temporary and ephemeral sculptures. Morethan 20 different artists are currently featuredin the sculpture park, which is sure to interestvisitors of all ages and tastes.

Nestled in the heart of Glenside’s KeswickVillage, the historic Keswick Theatre is notedas one of the most active and diversifiedvenues in the region, presenting a calendaryear full of nationally and internationallyknown performers. In addition, the theatre isnationally recognized as the most acousticallyperfect listening room in the greaterPhiladelphia area.

Also be sure to visit the Mitchell PerformingArts Center (MPAC), located on the campusof the Academy of the New Church in BrynAthyn. MPAC is a prime place to viewperformances from such groups as the BrynAthyn Orchestra and local theatre clubs.

The Glencairn Museum, also in Bryn Athyn,is a unique facility housing approximately8,000 objects related to the history ofreligion. Highlights of the museum include11th century stained glass from the Abbey ofSt. Denis, the ornate fifth-floor chapel, a life-size statue of the goddess Minerva and theawe-inspiring, five-story-high Great Hall.
