EASTERN GREENE HIGH SCHOOLNOTRE DAME VICTORY MARCH

WELCOME!Welcome to Eastern Greene High School. While we are small in size, we are doing big things with our students. We take great pride

in working with every student and supporting their college and career goals. We encourage students to take the most rigorous courses available, and in most cases, students are earning college credit along the way. It is our pleasure as educators to be a part of the high school journey of every student as they work towards their high school diploma and their personal dreams that they have for their lives after high school.

Beyond our focus on academics, we are very encouraging of our students to be involved with extra-curricular activities. The fall season represents a time with close to half of our school population is involved with an activity. We are very proud of our fall programs that include football, cheerleading, marching band, volleyball, cross country, and girls’ golf. In addition, our FFA program sells popcorn at all of the football games. Other students choose to support their classmates through participating in the “Flock,” our student pep club.

We wish the best of luck to all of these students. In addition, a big thank you goes out to all of our parents and community members for your loyal support of Eastern Greene High School. Go Thunderbirds!

Kevin Frank,High School Principal

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our 2014-2015 Eastern Greene Thunderbird athletic year. We look forward to many exciting athletic events this fall and throughout the year as we engage in contests with the best competition within southwestern Indiana and throughout the entire state.

Our coaches have been working extremely hard, as have our student-athletes in their offseason preparation for this season. We thank them for their determination as they continue to strive for success both on the playing surface and in the classroom, while representing Eastern Greene in an extremely positive and sportsmanlike manner.

With that in mind, we remind you of the need for all members of the Eastern Greene family to promote and observe the important values of sportsmanship. We greatly appreciate your attendance at this EGHS event and trust that you will cheer wholeheartedly for the Thunderbirds and have an enjoyable athletic experience. Enjoy the game, and GO THUNDERBIRDS!

JOEY PARIDAEN, Boys’ Varsity Football Head Coach

Hello. My name is Joey Paridaen and I am excited to be entering my first year as the head football coach of Eastern Greene. I am the oldest son of Jodie and Kurt Paridaen of Fort Branch, Indiana. I have twin four-year-old daughters named Addison and Avery Paridaen.

Football has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember. I graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1999; after playing all four years of high school football I was fortunate to continue playing for two more years at Wabash College where I lettered for the 2001 team.

After transferring to USI for a year, I then was hired and worked at Toyota in Princeton, Indiana for five-and-a-half years. I began attending Oakland City University as a part-time student the last couple of years at Toyota and then ended up graduating in December 2011. I spent the last two years as a teacher and head football coach at Wood Memorial High School.

After being hired in July as the 7th grade Social Studies teacher and head football coach I can now proudly say that I am a Thunderbird!

Hello, I am Jeremiah Boes, the band director at Eastern Greene High School in Bloomfield, Ind. I was born and raised in Lafayette, Ind. From a very early age I always loved to play music, and especially the drums. My father owned a set of drums and before I could even walk I was trying to bang away on these. Music has always been my passion, and was the catalyst for my success in high school and college. I attended Lafayette Jefferson High School where I got to learn from the likes of great musicians and teachers Thomas Barker, Jeff Parthun, and Bruce Knepper. The four years that I have spent learning from these leaders would ultimately help me determine that music would be the right course of study for me in college.

I attended Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., and received a Bachelor of Science in K-12 instrumental and General Music Education. Soon after graduating from school I was given the opportunity to be band director of the Eastern Greene schools. For the past two years, working with these students has been an absolute pleasure as we continue to grow this program together.
