Congress has crafted a bipartisan, bicameral agreement to permanently repeal the hard cap on Medicare therapy services. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and our Therapy Cap Repeal Coalition partners support this therapy cap policy.

Urgent Action Needed Now! The new agreement must be approved before the current ex-ceptions process expires on December 31, 2017. Please take 90 seconds and call your legislators today, and tell them to approve the Medicare therapy cap permanent fix legislation before the end of the year. You can make a difference and prevent a hard cap from being implemented on January 1, 2018.

IT’S EASY! APTA members can call their legislators using the numbers below. Nonmembers and patients can use the Patient Action Center to send emails to their members of Con-gress.

Your legislators are:

Senator Claire McCaskill (202) 224-6154

Senator Roy Blunt (202) 224-5721

Congresswoman Ann Wagner (202) 225-1621

Phone script:

“Hello, my name is ______. I am a constituent and a member of the American Physical Ther-apy Association. I am calling to tell Rep/Sen __________ to please add the Medicare thera-py cap permanent fix legislation to any vehicles before the end of the year. This is a biparti-san, bicameral agreement on a permanent fix for therapy cap repeal—Congress just needs to pass it. Again, please pass this legislation before December 31 to prevent a hard cap from going into effect for all Medicare beneficiaries on January 1.Thank you.”
