Eligibility

The university experience is open to Year 11 students who:

• Attend a non-selective state school

• Are expected to achieve 5 or more A*– C grades at GCSE

• Have no family history of higher education (ie your parents didn’t go to university)

• Are committed to participating in all of the activities of the Easter University Experience

Social Activities

A variety of social activities will be organised for you in the evening so you can socialise with your new friends and these will usually include activities such as:

• barbeque

• disco

How to Apply

Please complete the application form in the centre of this booklet, and ask your parent/guardian/carer to complete their section. Then pass the form to your teacher so that they can complete their reference. Your teacher should send the form to us.

What is the Easter University Experience?

The Easter University Experience is completely free and it is held over one night and two days, offering you the chance to experience what it’s like to be a university student. As well as social activities you will also be involved in workshops and lectures that will supplement your GCSE revision in English, maths and the sciences. You will meet and make new friends with a number of year 11 students from across London and the south of England. We aim to give you a real taste of university life.

Royal Holloway, University of London is one of the UK’s top research-intensive university institutions, acknowledged worldwide for high-quality research across the arts, humanities and sciences.

The Easter University Experience will take place on our friendly campus which is famous for our stunning Founder’s Building, one of the most spectacular university buildings in the world.

The College is located in Surrey, close to Windsor and is very easily accessible by train and car from both London and Reading. Students will stay in their own bedroom in our halls of residence which provide easy access to all of the activities.

Wednesday 11th April to Thursday 12th April

• All food and refreshments will be provided

• On the last day your friends and family will come to see what you have done

• It’s completely free of charge, including travel to and from Royal Holloway.
