Surrexit Christus, Alleluia!
Our journey through Lent and Holy Week has come to its
joyous conclusion as we celebrate together the Resurrection
of Jesus Christ. After our 40 days of preparation we now
begin 50 days of celebration during Eastertime; who says the
Church is all about ‘doom and gloom’!?
This year we will celebrate Christ’s Ascension to His Father in
40 days time on Thursday, 10th May and the great feast of the
Holy Spirit, Pentecost, 10 days later on Pentecost Sunday, 20th
May. As a Church we are good at focussing on the practice of
prayer, fasting and almsgiving during Lent so let’s not overlook
the rejoicing of Easter!
Every blessing
Fr Graham
