The new website is up and running and anyone can sign up as part of our team. You can do so now by registering at www.stridesforstroke.ca. Early bird registration fee will be available until April 7. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000. Richview Manor residents, their families, staff, and local schools like Villanova Collage will be making the 5KM trek with over 1200 other participants. Join the UniversalCare Movers & Shakers Team to start fundraising and to participate in the walk. Residents can inform Life Enrichment Manager Anna Walpole of their interest and willingness to participate. For those who will not be walking with us, donations will also be accepted. Help us bring life-saving medical equipment and technology to Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and the future Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. Dunk Tank Returns! Easter Open House FIRE PREVENTION TRAINING Fire Prevention Inspector, Andre Clafton, from the Vaughan Fire Department will be coming to Richview Manor to facilitate a Fire Prevention in- service for residents on April 10 th , 2017 at 3:00 pm in the Dufferin Room. Learn all about fire safety system in your building such as fire alarm, smoke alarm, emergency lighting, public address system and your fire safety plan. Red Hat Day JOHNNY BOWER FUNDRAISER Hockey fans save the date!! Richview Manor will be hosting a fundraising event on April 9th benefitting Strides for Stroke with the legendary Johnny Bower. Tickets are now available; the cost of the tickets is $30 for ages 12 and under and $45 for adults. If you would like to reserve your ticket, please contact Magdalena DiMaria. All participants will: • Meet Johnny Bower and watch a leaf game; • Enjoy Stadium Food Fare and non-alcoholic drinks • Receive a pre-autographed card • Have a great time! Space is limited so if you are interested, reserve your ticket as soon as possible. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the York Region District Stroke Center at Mackenzie Health Hospital. Sandra Kirby will be coming to Richview to wow us with her talent! The Red Hat Society is an international social organization originally founded for women age 50 and beyond. Today, there are chapters all over the globe. Richview will be celebrating Red Hat Society Day on Wednesday, April 26 th with hats galore! Come by the Grandview Dining Room at 2:30 with any kind of special or funky hat (it doesn’t have to be red) and let’s have some fun! Richview Manor is celebrating the spring holiday with a grand Open House on April 13 th in the Grandview Dining Room at 2:30PM. Live entertainment with Neal Pupulin, delicious appetizers and lots of fun will be had! Family and friends are invited, but please RSVP with concierge as space is limited. It’s back! By popular demand, the dunk tank will be returning to Richview once again. It was such a hit for everyone; we were able to raise $3,000 for Strides for Stroke 5KM Run/Walk benefitting the Mackenzie Health Hospital! If you’ve wanted to get your revenge on a staff member all year, now is your chance! On Tuesday, April 25 th , the dunk tank will be back on site at 2:30. The Vaughan Fire Department will be here to participate as well. The dunk tank was so much fun last year, and we hope everyone can make it out and have fun with us again.
