Every Hero Has A Story! Summer 2015
Entering Grades 5 – 8
Dear Middle School Student,
Summer is a perfect time to enjoy a good book. Each year I read reviews and search
for the most exciting and interesting book titles. The following list contains something
for everyone. Whether you are interested in epic battles between good and evil, the
inner turmoil of relationships, having a good laugh, or exploring the past, this summer
reading list will meet your needs.
We will continue this year with our Non-Fiction Kiva Contest. The kiva that reads the
most non-fiction books over the course of the summer will be rewarded with the first
place prize of an ice cream party. Non-fiction books are a great way to discover new
information. For every non-fiction book you read, please record the title and author
along with two interesting facts you learned. There are many exciting titles that will
keep you engaged. It is true what they sometimes say “The truth is better than
fiction”.
We will also continue with the Genre BINGO Game. Fill in the titles of the books that
match the genres on the BINGO card. For each card you turn in, you will receive a
raffle ticket to win a great prize! You will receive one ticket for each completed row.
A full card is worth 10 tickets.
Enjoy your summer and your reading and be sure to check out the summer reading list
for suggestions!
Sincerely,
Mrs. C. Woitovich
