- 1. East Detroit HS Scholastics Art Competition 2015 Winners
- 2. Scholastics- MI Thumb Region Counties: Huron, Lapeer, Macomb, Sanilac & St. Clair Macomb Community College and the College for Creative Studies sponsor the Michigan Thumb Region of The Scholastic Art Awards. More than 2,700 works of art and approximately 100 portfolios are received from middle school and high school students, with the assistance of volunteer art teachers, which are then adjudicated and selected for Honorable Mentions, Silver and Gold Key Awards, American Vision nominations and Best of Show Portfolios. The opening awards ceremony took place on February 9, 2015 at the Macomb Center for Performing Arts, followed by a reception and exhibit in the Lorenzo Cultural Center.

- 31. American Vision Award Nominee EDHS Senior Alec Rokicki is one of five Gold Key winners whose work has been chosen as Best of Show, i.e. American Vision Award for the MI Thumb Region. These five nominees will go on to to compete for one Regional winning spot. These regional winners are honored at a National Awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall, along with other National Gold Key winners. Good Luck Alec!!
