DEPUTIES OF THE MONTH

Deputy Chase M. Delancey; assigned to the Kleinpeter Substation, has been named Uniform Patrol Deputy of the Month. Deputy Delancey began with the office in 2012; he was assigned to the Communications Division previously. He is commended for going beyond the call of duty by persuading a domestic abuse victim to file a com-plaint against her abuser. She was extremely reluctant initially, but Deputy Delancey was able to convince her.

Deputy Ahlisa H. Wyatt, assigned to the Crime Analysis Division, has earned Administrative/Support Services Deputy of the Month. She started her tenure with the office in 1998 in Cor-rections. Dy. Wyatt is commended for her hard work and professionalism when servicing customers. .

Deputy Lance K. Prather is Detectives and Special Operations Deputy of the Month. Deputy Prather’s unrelenting work ethic and commitment led to him securing an arrest warrant on a convicted sex offender who has been living and working in the Baton Rouge area unregis-tered.

Deputy Cassie L. Huckaby, assigned to the Civil Foreclosure Division, began her ser-vice with the office in 2007. Deputy Huckaby is being recognized for her outstanding performance in her division; she is a valuable asset.

Deputy Kenya C. Ferchaud is being recognized as Corrections Deputy of the Month. She initially began with the office in 1999 and resigned in 2001; she re-joined the EBRSO family full time in 2006. Dy. Ferchaud’s leadership skills, profes-sionalism and dedication to this office are greatly appreciated. She never hesitates to assist coworkers when necessary.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office attended the Louisiana

Commission on Law Enforcement's Medal of Honor Ceremony

recognizing the nine fallen officers from 2015. Supervisors of each

officer spoke of the lost and their courage. Sheriff Gautreaux and

Chief Dabadie, of Baton Rouge Police Department, gave each family

the Medal of Honor, a commemorative plaque a state flag, and a

personalized candle that is used during the ceremony.

Telecommunicator Deputy Sindreka Williams who was

assigned to the radio channel during the Active Shooter

Incident in which 3 law enforcement officers were killed

the morning of July 17, 2016 received a Medal of Honor

and letter of support from Columbia/richland

911 Communications. EBRSO brought her into the Super-

visors Meeting and the letter was read aloud during the

meeting. She received applause from the supervisors in

attendance as the Medal was placed around her neck.
