Earthquake Effects
Human Made Structures
Structures are made to withstand earthquakes. They are made not only to not collapse but even protect
people. They were started for the millions of casualties in the
past were over 98%.
DAMAGE!
The amount of damage done to a structure would have to rely on the duration of the shake
Tsunamis
Its no surprise that earthquakes cause tsunamis Their destructive and deadly force has wiped out many
cities Japan received a very nasty one last year
March 11, 2011
Sendai, Japan an earthquake moved it about 8 feet The earthquakes magnitude was that of an 8.9 The tsunami that was caused by this flooded more than
4 kilometers(2.5 miles)

Broken electricity and gas lines
With broken buildings and structures, comes broken power lines and gas as well
Usually, in the aftermath of an earthquake, that’s the number 2 thing people call their insurance for to fix
Hazards for this can be gas leaks which can lead to air contamination as well as fires
