Approval of the Director, IITM of the above project at a cost of Rs. 20, 32, 000/- (Twenty Lac thirty two thousand only) is conveyed to you for implementation in a period of 4 years as per the break up given below.

Sanction of the Director IITM is also herehy conveyed to release an amount of Rs. 4, 84,000/-(Rupees Four Lac eighty four thousand only) towards the recurring grant in aid for the first year.

The Grant will be regulated in accordance with the provisions of IITM and Ministry of Earth Sciences· and purely based on the MOU signed between IITM and your Institution. The Grants in aid are also subject to particular conditions mentioned below:

I. The amount towards the head "Research Fellows" shall be utilised towards the payment of stipend of the 2 JRF's employed under the MAP AN Program as per the T&C stated below. This will be a consolidated amount and no other allowance will be applicable.

2- The costs towards the travel and contingency shall be utilised mainly for travel by PI' s _and t~e JRF's only (a) to attend MAPAN related meetings held at any of the MAP:"~ ~entre m India and (b) research related training and discussion to IITM, Pune and ( c) for mvitmg experts for

training and discussion from nodal group at IITM. 3. The JRF's are required to register for Ph.D along with a c~-guide from !ITM as per _MoU and

work towards the completion of the same within the stipulated time penod. The proJect under consideration will be carried out by all MAP AN partners in collaboration with the Nodal officer of the project 'Metropolitan Air Quality and Weather services for cities, sports and tourism" of

the Ministry of Earth Sciences and SAFAR program at IITM. 4. That the grantee shall present yearly Progress Reports on the Project to IITM. The yearly

progress of the project will be monitored by the MAP AN project monitoring committee constituted by Director, IITM during the MAP AN workshop or in a special meeting. The project will be mainly accessed on the progress of specific thematic problem assigned to a particular

MAP AN station. 5. The yearly grant will be sanctioned for next 4 years each, after submitting the utilization

certificate (UC) and statement of expenditure (SE) in the prescribed format duly certified by the competent authorities, which should be send immediately after the end of each financial year.

6. The MAP AN Centre will spend the Grants in aid exclusively in pursuance of the objectives envisaged and as per the terms and conditions and agreement (MOU) signed by the MAPAN institutions with IITM, Pune and within the prescribed period only.

7. That the IITM, Pune Administration would have no liability whatsoever for the absorption of

staff after the completion of the project. 8. The accounts of the MAP AN centre at grantee institution shall be audited by the Accounts

officer or by any person authorized by him on his behalf in accordance with the provisions and shall be open to inspection by the sanctioning authority whenever it is called upon to do so.

9. The expenditure involved will be met from within the sanctioned budget grant and to be debited from the IITM budget head under the scheme 'Metropolitan Air Quality and Weather services for cities, sports and tourism" of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

10. The grantee shall not commercially exploit the results of the project in any manner. 11. The administration reserves the right to terminate the funds at any stage, if it is satisfied that the

funds have not been or are not being properly utilized for the purpose for which these were sanctioned or that the progress of the work is not satisfactory. On cijncellation, the amount of expenditure already incurred, along with the unspent portion of the funds shall be remitted by the grantee within one month to the notice from IITM.

12. If the Principal Investigator to whom a grant for a project has been sanctioned wishes to leave -- ' the Institution where the project is based, the institute tlnvestigator will inform the same to the IITM and, in consultation with the IITM, the institute shall evolve with IITM, steps to ensure successful completion of the Project before relieving the Principal Investigator.

13 . That on the completion of the project any unspent/ unutilized balance out of the funds shall be refunded by the grantee to the IITM Administration forthwith.

14. The Director, IITM hereby authorise to prepare & submit bill for the sanctioned amount to Accounts officer (Joint Manager) IITM, Pune who will direct the State Bank of India, PUNE MAIN Branch, Pune to ~ake the payment preferably electronically i.e. through RTGS to the grantee, Whose bank details should be provided in the following format:
