Dear Parents At last recent check we had 35 known recorded home languages used amongst our pupil and staff body. We also have some pupils whose language has not yet been recorded so potentially we even richer in diversity at Earlham Primary! Today is History day at Earlham (coordinated by Ms Redman our Earlham Humanities lead) and it is a pleasure to see the creativity and enthusiasm emanating from children and staff to celebrate this Earlham and London project. We have Vikings and Knights; Romans and Greek goddesses. We have Victorians and Tudors; all dressed up in character and enjoying this fun, hands-on learning on the last day of half-term. This project is a reminder of the diversity prevalent in London and in our school. This is a strength of our school, recognised and valued by our many important visitors to the school. Our school community coexists peacefully and positively and we learn from each other which enriches the educational experience at our school. Today is also the first UK Face Equality Day which stands for the principle that all children are treated fairly, equally and with respect irrespective of their appearance. Face equality stands against prejudiced attitudes and behaviours that hugely disadvantage people of all ages who have a condition, injury, mark or illness that affects the way they look. I will be signing the Face Equality pledge on behalf of Earlham Primary because we are a school that stands for Inclusion which is about seeing diversity as a strength. We have specific goals at our school which we are all working together to surmount and turn into achievements. 1) We aim to improve our attendance so that we have no children classified as 'Persistent Absentees' which means that their attendance is below 90% of the term- time. No children should be below 90% unless there is a serious medical issue and all children should be at 96% attendance. 2) We aim to ensure that all children make strong progress no matter what challenges they face in terms of Special Educational Needs (including stretching and challenging the most able children), Poverty or language barriers 3) We aim to build the future by getting great outcomes for our children in their learning Each of these goals are being met with strength and focus by our Earlham Community. As we go into the last half-term of the year, we will: 1) Reach 95% in attendance if every family do their bit to get their children to Earlham on time every day. 2) Staff will complete the annual assessments and report clear progress to Parents before the end of the year and use this information to prepare positively for a great start to the year in September 2017. Dear Parents

At last recent check we had 35 known recorded home languages used amongst our pupil and staff body.

We have Victorians and Tudors; all dressed

up in character and enjoying this fun, hands-on learning on the last day of half-term.

1) We aim to improve our attendance so that we have no children classified as 'Persistent Absentees' which means that their attendance is below 90% of the term-time. No children should be below 90% unless there is a serious medical issue and all children should be at 96% attendance.

2) We aim to ensure that all children make strong progress no matter what challenges they face in terms of Special Educational Needs (including stretching and challenging the most able children), Poverty or language barriers

3) We aim to build the future by getting great outcomes for our children in their learning

Each of these goals are being met with strength and focus by our Earlham Community. As we go into the last half-term of the year, we will:

1) Reach 95% in attendance if every family do their bit to get their children to Earlham on time every day.

2) Staff will complete the annual assessments and report clear progress to Parents before the end of the year and use this information to prepare positively for a great start to the year in September 2017.

3) We will build the future by working together with pupils working with dedication and commitment; staff preparing and delivering great learning and Parents and Carers supporting the school by reinforcing the value of education to their children; getting them to school and setting an example in demonstrating respect for the school and its staff.
