K–12 ATHLETIC PROGRAM SANTA FE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS Focus on Fundamentals Kindergarten through 4 th grade students can participate in a variety of Eagles Edge sports clinics and camps throughout the school year and summer. Flag football and volleyball in the fall, for example, basketball in the winter, lacrosse in the spring, and various camps during the summertime. These clinics and camps teach important sports fundamentals that prepare young athletes for future competitive sports. They also allow children to try out a variety of sports activities. Playing Time is Not Optional By 5th grade, Eagles Edge athletes can play on a variety of organized sports teams. Teams are participation-based so young athletes receive playing time, no matter what their skill level. Over 85% of SFC’s 6 th –8 th grade students play on one or more of 26 Middle School teams. Primed for Competitive Sports Once Eagles Edge athletes reach Upper School, they are well prepared for the rigors of competitive CIF sports. SFC’s Upper School athletics program includes football, volleyball, cross country, water polo, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, track & field, baseball, softball, lacrosse, golf and swim. SFC has many CIF championship teams, and about 10% of SFC graduates go on to play in college. Champions for Christ Eagles Edge athletes are mentored by godly, professional coaches throughout their sports progression. Upper School athletes also assist SFC’s coaching staff by helping guide younger athletes at sports clinics and camps. The Eagles Edge Program emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship, teammate support and becoming Champions for Christ –– both on and off the field.
