She returned back to the school system as a media specialist at Lincoln Park Academy. In the Fall of 2002 she transferred from Lincoln Park Academy to SLW Centen- nial High School. Lynda Oostdyk never con- sidered her role as Centenni- al’s media specialist anything other than a blessing. “I got to work with every student and adult who works here, which means I get to know EVERYONE – I believe that is a gift,” she said. For more than 30 years, Lynda worked in education, While attending Au- burn University as a student, Lynda worked in the col- lege’s library and fell in love with it. She knew then that she wanted to be a librar- ian/media specialist. She moved to Fort Pierce and in the Fall of 1973 she was hired as a media spe- cialist at Fort Pierce Central High School. She trans- ferred from Fort Pierce Central when Fort Pierce Westwood opened and worked as a media specialist until she took maternity leave. She took six years off enjoying motherhood. having briefly spent time as a pharmacy technician. In all her years cataloguing tomes, Lynda says she has appreciated many, but con- siders the Bible the book of her life. Annual Christmas Wrapping with Sheriff Office

Centennial High School will be participating in the annual Christmas Wrapping with the Sheriff's Office! The Sheriff's Office has been given a

list of needy local families and we get to help wrap their pre-sents! Students who participate will be given volunteer time cred-

it. Any student interested in participating must sign up with Ms. Young

in room R104.

These students were chosen based on voicing requirements for the honors ensemble. The band is composed of students from St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties.

The students will rehearse over the course of three days with Dr. John Southall at IRSC.

They will have the privilege of interacting with their peers from every high school in the four

county area!
