DeSean Jackson, WR: Jackson will continue to be an Eagle, but with a cap figure

of $12.5M for 2014 the team could convert his base salary of $10.25M into bo-nus to increase cap space.

Jason Peters, LT: Had another All-Pro season in 2013. Clearly one of the best

LTs in the NFL. The Eagles could convert some of Peters base salary of $9.6M

if they wanted to open up additional cap space for their offseason needs.

2013 Record: 10-6 Projected Cap Space: $7 million

Chip Kellys transition to the NFL didnt

take long, and it certainly delivered from anoffensive standpoint.

Kellys move from Oregon last offseason

was met with a curious anticipation as to

what his offense would bring to the NFL.

The up-tempo style was one thing, but the

ability for Kelly to create vast running lanes

and one-on-one opportunities for his receiv-

ers is what made the Eagles a winner.

There were no bigger beneficiaries of

Kellys vision in 2013 than running back

LeSean McCoy and quarterback Nick Foles.

McCoy led the NFL in rushing with 1,607

yards. Foles put together a 27 touchdown

and two interception season, along with a

    league-best QB rating of 119.2.

But the development of this team from a di-

vision winner to a Super Bowl contender willdepend on defensive improvement. The Ea-

    gles gave up a league-worst 4,636 passing

yards in 2013. The play of the safeties were

    consistently lacking all season.

The Eagles transition to the 3-4 defense will

continue this offseason as the team looks to

get bigger upfront and improve on their 20th

ranking in sacks. With modest cap room, the

team may be able to secure a veteran safety

or pass rusher to help improve their biggestweakness.

Offensively, a big and fast downfield re-

ceiver would also work wonders moving for-

ward. As Chip Kelly has proven, hell make

this happen sooner rather than later.

    Key Free Agents

Jeremy Maclin, WR -Missed all of 2013 witha knee injury. Lookingfor a one-year contractto rebuild value. Turns

    26 in May.

    8 touchdowns in 2013.

    sons.

Michael Vick, QB -Wants to start for ateam in 2014. Turns 34this summer. Has be-come increasingly frag-ile, even by Michael

    Vick standards.

    NFL Free Agents

Brian Orakpo, OLBWashington - If he getsfree, the Eagles 3-4 isin need of another edge

    rusher.

Jarius Byd, S Buffalo -Best safety on market if

he gets there. Anthony Spencer, OLB

Dallas - Could take aminimal shot on a for-

    mer Pro Bowl OLB.

Terrence Cody, DT Balti-more - Nose tacklewould help run defense

    in Eagles 3-4 scheme.
