We Are Saved To Serve

Ephesians 2:8-10 -- For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Works Assigned To Each

Matthew 5:16 -- Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

We each can let our light shine

James 2:14-18  What use is it, my brethren, if someone says

he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

Good Deeds Convict Others 1 Peter 2:12 -- Keep

your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Personally Gifted To Serve  Romans 12:3-8 Don’t think too highly of self Body has many unique members We are many, but one body in

Christ We are members of one another We each have different gifts

which we should use according to God’s grace

1 Corinthians 12

Variety of gifts but one Spirit Variety of ministries but one Lord Variety of effects but one God Gifts include wisdom, knowledge,

faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues

Spirit distributes giftedness according to His will

Ephesians 4:7-16 …He gave some as

apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service…by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part….”

1 Peter 4:10-11

Use your gift to serve one another as good stewards

If you speak, do so as of the utterances of God

Serve? Do so by the strength which God supplies.

So that in all things God may be gloried through Jesus Christ….

The Mindset Of A Servant

2 Cor. 5:15 --  …and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

Dead to self and alive for Him

2 Timothy 2:15

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”

Instruments For Noble Use

2 Timothy 2:20-21 -- Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

We Are A Kingdom And Priests

Revelation 1:6 -- …and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father – to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
