051-62G1-E02 Prepare for a Quarry Blast Performance Evaluation
Action: Prepare for a quarry blast.
Conditions: At a training site, given predrilled bore holes, a demolition set, stemming material, FM 5-250, ST 5-250-1, TM 5-332, a tamping rod,the amount of inert det cord, MDI, and explosives specified by theblast design, a shovel, sandbags, coveralls, safety boots, goggles, gloves, hearing protection, and a hard hat
Standards: Prime explosives, load bore holes, and assemble a nonelectric firingcircuit for an inert blast in accordance with (IAW) the blast design,FM 5-250, ST 5-250-1, and TM 5-332, without damage to equipmentor the environment and without injury to personnel.
Safety
Requirements
Hard hats must be worn at all times. Hearing protection must be worn whileconducting live blast. Eye protection, gloves and proper foot protection must beworn.
