EYE WITNESS TO THE THREE FEASTS
5th Sunday of Abib 1728/2012
1. HUMBLE AND FULL OF GRACE
And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly
favoured one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among
women!..... Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of
the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. Luke
1:28,38
(MAR. JOHN SABA)
Put on humility all the time, to turn yourself
into a dwelling place for God.
2. WORSHIP AND FLEEING!
And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh....Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” Matt 2:11,13
(ST. AUGUSTINE)
Send the ray of Your wisdom to scatter
our darkness, for Your image to shine in us
3.CROSS AND RESURRECTION
Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:35
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,
with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Acts 1:14
(ST. JEROME)
Once the grief of the Sabbath passed, a day of joy has risen.
Now risen, it gained the priority over all days.
On this day, the first light has shone,
and the Lord had risen, conquering death.
9TH HOUR PRAYER
When the Mother beheld the Lamb and Shepherd and Saviour of the world hanging upon the cross, she said weeping: "The
world rejoices in that it has received salvation, but my bowels are ablaze when I
behold Thy crucifixion, which you endured for the sake of all, O my Son and my God.
(ST. JEROME)
If one single man, Moses, gained forgiveness for 600 thousand men of
war; and St. Steven, the Christian martyr prayed for forgiveness of his
prosecutors; When those people get to enter with their lives to Christ, would
their strength be less than that ?!
