A 3 days Faculty Development Program on ‘ANSYS Electromagnetic Software and its
Applications in Electrical Engineering’ was conducted on 4th to 6th Oct 2018 in association with
Entuple Technologies. Participants were from various Colleges across India and the topics
covered were Static Electric Fields and Applications, Review of the Steady Magnetic Field,
Designing with FPGA Based Wavect Power Control and Monitoring System - Focus: Electric
Drives and Renewable Energy Systems. Resource person were Mr Ghanshyam Ambekar and Mr
Sanjay Kumar from Entuple Technologies, Bangalore. The FDP focused on Machine design
using ANSYS software.

Engineer’s day was celebrated in the department of Electrical Engineering on 15th September
2018 by inauguration of the student chapter formed with IEI (Institute of Engineers, India). The
chief guest for the programme was Mr. PradeepRamrakhiani (Assistant Vice-President, Sales
and Marketing, Ravin cables). He shared his experience and technical contents related to
manufacturing and wide range of cables. He also explored the possible job opportunities in the
cable sector.
Further, to promote project based learning an exhibition was arranged after the guest lecture,
where students of B.Tech Sem I, Sem III and B.Tech Sem V prepared mini project models. The
students made these project models related to their subjects in the present curriculum. The chief
guest appreciated the work done by the students and encouraged them to work more on hardware
related projects.

The session included electricity safety measures, electrical shock, electrical equipments like
electric iron, fan, fan regulator, electric heater, MCB along with its construction, working and
use, Electrical wiring (Series, parallel,staircase wiring).
Students enjoyed the demonstrations and understood the science behind the electrical
equipments. An interesting session to gain practical knowledge to develop interest in electrical
