RULES and REGULATIONS 1. The Show will open at 8.00 am each day. 2. Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure that exhibits are available for judging when

required. 3. Judgingwillcommenceat10.00aminallringsoneachdayoftheShowunlessotherwisenotified;JHAat9.30am. 4. a) Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. b) Exhibits may not be removed any earlier unless by written order of the Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or of the

Show Management and then only in very exceptional and unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the Kennel Club.

c) The Show will close half an hour after all judging has been completed at which time dogs must be removed. 5. The use of cooking stoves in the proximity of tenting and benching areas is forbidden except as authorised by the Show

7. Prize Money will be paid in certain Stakes Classes only. 8. The committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 9. Puppiesundersixcalendarmonthsofageon the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition (including NFC). 10. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 11. Best Puppy in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which

stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended.

(Definition:ShowsjudgedonGroupSystem-RefertoRegulation27B.) Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has competed and is unbeaten

by any other puppy exhibited at the same show. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the firstdayoftheShow.WheretheBestofBreed,BestinGrouporBestinShowisapuppyitshouldautomaticallybeawardedBestPuppy in Breed, Best in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it will also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed, Best in Group and Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best of Breed and Best in Show respectively.

a. Championship Shows Judged on the Group System 1) Best Puppy in Breed: A Best Puppy must be declared in each breed from puppies entered in the breed classes. 2) Best Puppy in Group: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which

stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended.

Best Puppy in Group and subsequent Puppy Group placings must be selected from:- a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed provided that they are unbeaten by any other puppy. b) ThepuppydeclaredBestPuppyfromtheAnyVarietyNotSeparatelyClassifiedclassesineachgrouporoneachday

provided it is unbeaten by any other puppy. 3) Best Puppy in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which

stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. Best Puppy in Show must be selected from the Best Puppy in Group winners provided they are unbeaten by any other puppy.

b. Withdrawal from other Competition: Puppies which become eligible for Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition, other than breed classes and Best Puppy in Breed, prior to the competition for Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show as appropriate, in order to remain unbeaten. A puppy beaten in competition for Best Puppy in Group or Best Puppy in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dog declared Best Puppy in Show, however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Puppies may be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.

c. Proviso: For the purpose of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and Team oraSpecialAwardconfinedtoonebreedwillnotbeconsideredtobeabeatendog.

12. Best in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended.

The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at the same Show. DefinitionofaCategory3Breed.AbreedfromtimetotimedesignatedbytheGeneralCommitteeasrequiringparticularmonitoring

by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare concerns. The list of designated Category 3 Breeds is kept under regular review.

a. Shows Judged on the Group System (Definition:ShowsjudgedontheGroupSystemincludesclassesforbreedswithinmorethanoneGroup,asdefinedinKennel

ClubRegulationB(A);andrequiresajudgetodeclareaBestofeachGroupafterwhichtheexhibitssodeclaredwillcompetefor the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.)

1) Best of Breed:WhereabreedisseparatelyclassifiedaBestofBreedmaybedeclaredbutonlyfromthosedogswhichhavereceivedafirstprizeinabreedclassattheshow.WhereseparateclassesareprovidedforeachsexofabreedaBest of each Sex must be declared.

NOTE:TheBestofBreed/BestAnyVarietyNotSeparatelyClassifiedawardrelevanttoaCategory3BreedwillnotbeconfirmeduntilthedoghaspassedanexaminationbytheGeneralandGroupChampionshipShowVeterinarySurgeon.

2) Best of Group: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. Best of Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from:-

a) The Best of Breed winners in each group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs. b) Thebestunbeatenwinningdog from theAnyVarietyNotSeparatelyClassifiedclasses ineachgrouporoneach

day. NOTE:ThedogdeclaredBestofBreed/BestAnyVarietyNotSeparatelyClassifiedfromabreeddesignatedbytheKennel

Club as a Category 3 Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group competition unless it has passed an examination by the Show’s Veterinary Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in the relevant Group.

3) Best in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten. Reserve Best in Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Best in Show.

b. Withdrawal from other Competition: Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show maybe withdrawn from all other competition other than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best of Group or Best in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.

c. Proviso: For the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and Team oraSpecialAwardconfinedtoasinglebreed,willnotbeconsideredtobebeatendogs.

13. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with special permission of the Show Management.

14. NomodificationswillbemadetothisScheduleexceptbypermissionoftheGeneralCommitteeoftheKennelClub,whichwillbe followed by advertisement in the Canine Press if possible.

15. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition. 16. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/

event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 17. Dogs in Cars on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following

guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and

leaveearliertoavoidincreasedtimeintrafficjams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to

drink.• Ensureyourdogisnotsittinginfullsunlight.Thereshouldbeplentyoffreeflowingairaroundthedog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available

to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.

Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry.

18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

19. BENCHING:Alldogswillbebenchedalphabeticallywithintheirbreeds.Dogsmustbepresentontheirbenchesatalltimesexcepta)whenbeingjudged;b)whenbeingpreparedforexhibitionand/orbeingexercisedforaperiodnotexceeding30minutes.Dogsmay be removed from their benches by order of the Veterinary Surgeon or Show Management.

20. RECEIPT OF ENTRIES: No acknowledgement of receipt of entries will be made unless a stamped addressed postcard in enclosed with entries.

21. REFUND OF FEES: Under no circumstances will entry fees be refunded once entries are received. The Association may, entirely at the discretion of the Committee and at any time, alter the stated show venue or abandon the show. In the case of venue alteration no refund of entry fees shall be made, regardless of when notice of change of venue is given. In the case of abandonment a full credit of the entry fees received from the exhibitor will be allowed against fees due for the following year’s entry, but no refund of fees shall be made.

22. RETURN OF ENTRIES: Exhibitors are asked to note that cheques etc. sent to cover entry fees must at least be for the correct amount and must be in order for immediate payment. Those which are not so for any reason whatsoever (including technical irregularities) will not be accepted and entries therewith will be returned.

23. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: An administration charge of £2.00 will be levied against the owner for any Entry Fees and/or Entry Forms which have to be returned to the exhibitor for correction or amendment. There will be a charge of £10.00 made to the exhibitor for any cheques/credit card payments not honoured.

24. CATALOGUES: Catalogues will only be available on a pre-paid basis. 25. RESPONSIBILITY: It should be distinctly understood by exhibitors and spectators at the Show that the Committee will not be

responsible for the entire or partial loss or detention of or damage to dogs or any other property whether arising from accident or

DEFINITIONS OF CLASSESFor the purpose of Kennel Club Show Regulations, the term 'Variety Class' also applies to 'Stakes Classes'.

Inthefollowingdefinitions,aChallengeCertificateincludesanyShowawardthatcountstowardsthetitleofChampionunderthe Rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club. Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where ChallengeCertificatesarenotonoffershallbecountedaswinsatOpenShows.Inthecaseofadogownedinpartnershipand entered in Members' classes or competing for Members' Specials each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of entries shall be counted when entering for any class, i.e. Friday, 21st August 2015.Wins in Variety classes do not count for entry in Breed classes but when entering for Variety classes, wins in both Breed and Variety classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value. A dog is not eligible for entry in Variety Classes (excluding AVNSC Classes) unless also entered and subsequently exhibited in a Breed class where such a class is provided for which it is eligible. Exemptions from this Regulation are: (1) A puppy, unless a class for dogs under twelve months of age for which it is eligible is provided for the breed. (2) A dog in Any Variety Field Trial or Working Trial Class. (3) A dog in Any Variety Veteran Class. (4) A dog in Any Variety Champion Class. (5) A dog which is withdrawn from exhibition in breed classes as a result of the appointment of an emergency judge. (6) A dog in YKC Stakes Classes. (7) A dog in Good Citizen Scheme Classes. (8) Exhibits bred by the scheduled breed Judge.If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the exhibitor may choose one of the following options: (1) Withdrawal ThedogmaybewithdrawnfromcompetitionsubjecttotheconditionsofRegulations9(j)and20. (2) Transfer a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height the Show Secretary

shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and, in the event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted, to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

b) If an exhibit is entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy class, Puppy class or Junior class, which is over age but under twelve calendar months of age, eighteen calendar months of age or twenty four calendar months of age respectively, the Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy class, Junior class or Yearling class respectively for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling class to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may not be transferred to any other class.

SAFETYOFFICER:ASafetyOfficerwillbeinattendancethroughouttheshow.Exhibitorsandspectatorsareremindedthatjustas South Wales Kennel Association has a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all those attending their event, all those present have a duty and responsibility for their own safety. They are therefore expected to take the greatest care to avoid guy ropes, uneven surfaces and other hazards which are inevitable and integral elements of a dog show. Those bringing and using portable items of equipment such as folding chairs, trolleys, cages and grooming tables also have a responsibility to ensure that their tools, equipment and collapsible furniture is used and erected safely and does not constitute a hazard to others. Exhibitors are also reminded that they should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the prevailing conditions on the site. Exhibitors show at their own risk if conditions are not ideal.

27. DOG FOULING & GROOMING WASTE: Any owner/exhibitor/handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove immediately any fouling caused by their dog(s) and/or any grooming waste at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches.

28. MOBILE PHONES: The use of mobile phone in the vicinity of the rings is prohibited. 29. RINGNUMBERS:Everyexhibitorshallensurethatwhilstthedogisbeingexhibited,itshandlershalldisplaythecorrect ring

number. 30. REGULATIONSF9EXHIBITIONOFDOGS: a) No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time whilst at the licensed venue including its

environs, car park and caravan parks and approaches. b) The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure

that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

The RWAS will make a daily charge of £10 per night for caravans on site before 7th October. No caravans will be admitted by the RWAS before 5th October. All caravans must depart the showground by 6.00 pm on Monday, 12th October.Electricalhook-upswillbeavailableonafirstcome,firstservedbasis.Thecostwillbe£43.00perhook-up plus £2.00 per day electricity charges. These caravans will be sited on the lower area of the ground behind the grandstand. Payment for hook-ups and electricity will be made directly to RWAS at the showground, NOT in advance to SWKA.Regulations state that caravans must be 25 ft apart. Failure to comply with this rule will result in owners having to remove their unit to another location. Under no circumstances are caravan spaces to be reserved for people arriving later. Security staff will carry out periodic inspections to ensure that this regulation is being complied with.Generators — Fuel must be stored in a suitable container. It must be stored away from the generator and any other possible sources of ignition. Filling of generators must only be carried out when the generator is cool and a correct fuel funnel must be used. REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F (Annex B) 1. These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited at any Kennel

Club Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under these Show Regulations and/or for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rule A11.

a) AdogfoundtohavebeenexhibitedinbreachoftheseRegulationswillautomaticallybedisqualifiedfrom exhibition at the show and from any award gained thereat.

b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in breach of these Regulationsthenhe/shemaybesubjecttofurtherpenaltiesofeitherafineoraslistedunderRuleA11.

2. a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog's coat for any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour of any external part of the dog may be present on the dog for any purpose at any time during the Show.

b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibition must not be allowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition.

3. No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except:

(a) OperationscertifiedtothesatisfactionoftheGeneralCommittee. (b) The removal of dew claws of any breed. (c) OperationstopreventbreedingprovidedthatsuchoperationsarenotifiedtotheKennelClubbefore

neutered dogs are shown. Nor must anything be done calculated in the opinion of the General Committee to deceive. 4. The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any

Show. Any examination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive authority who shall have a written directive from the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further examination and analysis.

5. An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dog competinginthesamebreedorclass.Anobjectionmay,however,belodgedbyanofficialoftheShowor by anyone so deputed by the Kennel Club. It will be the responsibility of the individual who lodges the objectionortheofficial(asappropriate)tosubstantiatethegroundsfortheobjection.TheKennelClubwill substantiate the grounds for an objection made on its behalf.

6. Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be made in writing totheShowSecretaryathis/herofficebeforethecloseoftheShowandtheindividualmustproduceevidence of identity at the time of lodging the complaint.
