Adoption Awareness Month November is National Adoption Awareness Month. As people of faith, we know that adoption is a loving and
beautiful way for a child to be welcomed into a family. We ask God to bless all of those whom adoption is a part of
their life story – an adopted child or one waiting for their “forever home,” parents placing their child for adoption,
adoptive families, couples in waiting, and those who have a loved one touched by adoption. Though there are trials and uncertainties involved in every adoption, our Catholic
community needs to celebrate and share the message that adoption is a beautiful option! For resources go to http://www.usccb.org/about/pro-life-activities/word-
of-life/index.cfm
FORMED Have you checked out FORMED lately? Who was this
Cardinal dedicated to reform? Episode 4 of the True Refor-mers series tells the story of Saint Charles Borromeo: The Good Shepherd, whose feast day was November 5. As the nephew of Pope Pius IV, Charles Borromeo was one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in all of Rome. Yet he chose the extraordinary challenge of reforming the enor-mous Archdiocese of Milan to the pampered life of a Re-
naissance prince, and willingly spent himself in the service of his flock. Simply go to formed.org/signup and find your
parish to register, select your parish, register with your name and email address, then check your email account for
the link to begin using FORMED. Many informative resources are available on the sacraments, the works of the
apostles, the lives of the saints, faith formation, bible studies, apologetics, devotions, youth oriented lessons, and
much more.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend
A Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend is an opportu-nity to strengthen the foundation of your marriage.
Grounded in the love of Jesus Christ, the weekend will provide you the tools and the time necessary to go deeper
into the Sacrament so that you can live more intimately and responsibly as a couple of God. The next weekend in the Kansas City area will be November 15-17. For more
information or to apply for a weekend, visit www.wwme4youandme.org, or call/email Tony and Barb
Zimmerman at 816-741-4066, [email protected].
Spirit of Christmas Anderson County The holidays are just around the corner. The Spirit of
Christmas committee is busy preparing to provide a happy holiday to those in need in our community. Please consider
adopting a child or family by visiting or calling the ECKAN office at 132 E. 5th, Garnett, 785-448-3670. Look for Angel
Trees at City Hall, Yoder’s Country Store, Church of the Nazarene and the ECKAN office in Garnett to adopt a child
for Christmas. Angel Trees are also available in Kincaid, Colony, Westphalia and Greeley. Your generosity will help provide gift baskets to every household and gifts to every child in Anderson County who are in need. There is a flyer posted at the back of the church with further information.

Kansas Amendment Next Steps From the Pro-Life office: Next Steps to help REVERSE the RULING and NOT abandon women in crisis and pre-born babies to an unregulated abortion industry include these
actions: First, pray! Our efforts are consecrated to the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, so please pray the rosary for the passage of a State Constitutional Amend-
ment rejecting abortion as a constitutional right in Kansas. Go to www.KansasRosaryCrusade.org to register your family, parish, organization or self. Next, contact your
elected officials! We ask everyone to contact their elected officials directly by phone, email, or handwritten letter. To find your State Senator and Representative, go to: https://
openstates.org/ks/legislators. For a sample letter go to https://www.archkck.org/prolife-ks-constitutional-amendment and scroll down to “What can you do?”
