#iGiveCatholic Giving Day 2019

Celebrated annually on the Tuesday following Thanks-giving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, #iGiveCatholic is an online giving day that kicks off the charitable season

and brings the Catholic community together to give thanks and give back. The goal is to rally our Catholic

community in support of our parishes, schools, ministries and not-for-profit organizations. Secure tax-deductible

donations to eligible Catholic organizations in the archdiocese will be accepted at iGiveCatholic.org during

the 24 hour period on #Giving Tuesday, December 3. Advanced Day giving is November 18-December 2.

tions via email that will help Advent become more mean-ingful as we prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth.

in your day and in your heart. Sign up to receive free daily meditations via email in preparation for Christ’s coming at

FORMED

Have you checked out FORMED lately? In the Gospels we hear Jesus refer to his mother Mary as "Woman". This

reference should draw our attention to the woman men-tioned in Genesis, as well as in the book of Revelation. But

who is this "Woman", and why is she so central in the history of Salvation?

A powerful film, The Woman, presents the beautiful Catholic teaching about Mary, the mother of Jesus, and her important role in the Church and in the lives of Christians

today. Combining many gorgeous images from classic sacred art with a lovely soundtrack, the dogmas of the

Mother of God: Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virginity, and Assumption, are explained along with other

traditional beliefs and devotions to Mary.

Simply go to formed.org/signup and find your parish to register, select your parish, register with your name and

email address, then check your email account for the link to begin using FORMED. Many informative resources are avail-able on the sacraments, the works of the apostles, the lives

of the saints, faith formation, bible studies, apologetics, devotions, youth oriented lessons, and much more.

Pregnancy Resource Center Angel Tree At each of our churches, you will see an Angel Tree from

the Pregnancy Resource Center in Iola. If you would like to purchase a gift, please take a tag off of the tree, and return it with your gift before Christmas. You may leave the gifts at the church, or drop them off at the parish office during office hours. Please contact the office with any questions.

Spirit of Christmas Anderson County The holidays are just around the corner. The Spirit of

Christmas committee is busy preparing to provide a happy holiday to those in need in our community. Please consider

adopting a child or family by visiting or calling the ECKAN office at 132 E. 5th, Garnett, 785-448-3670. Look for Angel

Trees at City Hall, Yoder’s Country Store, Church of the Nazarene and the ECKAN office in Garnett to adopt a child

for Christmas. Angel Trees are also available in Kincaid, Colony, Westphalia and Greeley. Your generosity will help provide gift baskets to every household and gifts to every child in Anderson County who are in need. There is a flyer posted at the back of the church with further information.
