FIRST EARLY
ARRAN PILOT Very early traditional potato, bred on the Isle of Arran and the most popular variety in the UK in the 1930s. Excellent yield and flavour. Great resistance to all forms of scab and scores a high 9 for spraing resistance, good slug resistance. Boiling and chipping.
CASABLANCA Relatively new variety. Great skin finish making it a good candidate for the show bench. Makes very good chips. Boiling, mashing, baking, chipping and roasting.
ABBOT Abbot is an early maturing, white fleshed and white skinned variety. Abbot has a bright skin with shallow eyes and produces a high yield. It has an excellent taste and is suitable for the table and home French fry market. Crops of new potatoes will be ready as early as May while larger tubers can be lifted later in the season for delicious chips and summer bakers. Shows good disease resistance and makes a superb choice for your first potatoes of the year.
DUKE OF YORK Traditional early variety, harvest when young for a rich sweet flavour or leave to mature for a floury texture. Makes excellent baked potato. show good resistance to dry rot. Boiling, baking, chipping and salad.

FIRST EARLY
NEW
EPICURE Traditionally know as 'Ayrshire Earlies'. A very good taste and texture. Recovers well from late frosts. Good slug resistance. Boiling, mashing and salad.
FOREMOST Foremost remains popular as a new potato with slightly waxy, firm white flesh and an excellent flavour. Boiling, baking and salad.
DUNLUCE Dunluce seed potatoes were first bred by Jack Clarke (who famously bred the Ulster range of pota-toes) back in 1976. Tubers are round to oval in shape their eyes are shallow and the skin is white as is the flesh.
Dunluce is highly recommend for great crops of early potatoes.
This variety shows great resistance to all forms of scab and resistance to disintegration when boiling.
HOME GUARD Well known for their early lifting ability. Home Guard was the main potato during the Second World War, and was a commercial success due to its consistent high yields of fresh, tasty potatoes. High resistance to all forms of scab and spraing. Boiling, baking, chipping and roasting.

SHALLOTS
A greatly improved 'Dutch Yellow' with better yields of high quality, golden rounded bulbs. Golden Gourmet stores well and has good resistance to bolting, may be planted out from January. Harvest August to September.
Attractive red tinged skin, Red Sun is arguably the best of the red shallots. Producing good yields of crisp, white fleshed bulbs of excellent flavour for cooking, salads or for pickling. Bulbs have long storage potential. Harvest August to September

YELLOW MOON
Yellow Moon is an early maturing variety, producing round shallots
with an attractive yellow colour. It has a low sensitivity to bolt-
ing and produces a very healthy, uniform crop with excellent skin

Semi-long with a sweet flavour and firm reddish colour flesh. Great
for casseroles & stews. Bred to withstand harsh weather in north-

Very popular with farmers due to its ability to produce baking potatoes very early. Good bright skin finish and a nice flavour, oval shaped, with light yellow skins and cream coloured flesh.

SAXON
Produces large crops of long-oval shaped white
skinned tubers. The flesh of Saxon potatoes is
firm and yellow in colour, ideal for all kitchen
uses. Saxon is widely regarded to be amongst

CARA Big-yielding variety with an attractive skin. Good resistance to blight and is good for long term storing. Plenty of size and is a good one to grow for a baker crop. Good slug resistance and excellent drought resistance as well as good all round disease resistance. Boiling, baking, chipping and roasting.
DESIREE
The most popular red-skinned variety in the UK
giving great crops of large potatoes. A good
culinary potato which boils well and has a
delicious smooth texture. Heavy cropper and
early bulking with high resistance to drought
and good resistance to potato virus Y and
powdery scab, mis-shapes on heavy soils.
CAROLUS An attractive parti-coloured variety with light yellow flesh colour. Tubers are uniformly oval in shape. Cooking type is slightly floury but with excellent taste and flavour. Has a reasonably high dry matter mak-ing it suitable for home frying. Can be grown on most soil types but does prefer irrigation. Avoid planting in light sandy soils. This variety has excellent re-sistance to both foliage and tuber blight. Boiling, mashing, superb roast potatoes.
BLUE BELLE
Blue Belle seed potatoes are full of promise for the
keen exhibition grower with strong colour in the
eyes; a real challenger to Kestrel as a show bench
potato.
Very high resistance to both splitting and potato virus
Y, Blue Belle are generally best suited to baking,
boiling or mashing.

KING EDWARD A well known favourite in the potato world. Attractive white skins with bright splashes of red. Makes the ideal roasts and baked potatoes but is also good boiled with a strong, aromatic flavour. Good scab resistance.

KINGSMAN Kingsman was brand new for 2017. It produces big, bold, uniform tubers. It has good disease resistance including golden potato cyst nem-atode.

MARIS PIPER
Probably the best known potato in Britain and
one of the most versatile with an attractive plant
with purple flowers. Oval shaped with white
skins and cream coloured flesh.
Baking, boiling, chipping, roasting and mashing.
HARMONY Produces large crops of clean white skinned tubers that are very resistant to scab. Harmony is a very good baking potato.

Bred near to the Pentland Hills outside
Edinburgh this variety produces large crops of
bold potatoes. It has a good resistance to scab
which can be unsightly on the potato skins.
PICASSO Bred from Cara but reaches maturity up to 3 weeks earlier. Great tasting variety with high disease resistance. Makes nice roasts and mash. Baking, boiling, chipping and roasting.

SARPO MIRA
A pale red tuber with a fluffy texture renowned
for it's excellent resistance to blight, dry and
floury texture which are best suited to roasting
and chipping.

NEW DUNLUCE Dunluce seed potatoes were first bred by Jack Clarke (who famously bred the Ulster range of pota-toes) back in 1976. Tubers are round to oval in shape their eyes are shallow and the skin is white as is the flesh.
Dunluce is highly recommend for great crops of early potatoes.
This variety shows great resistance to all forms of scab and resistance to disintegration when boiling.
