School Uniform Rule Reminder We have recently noticed a lot of children are
coming in with nail varnish on. May we
remind parents that the children must remove
nail varnish before coming in to school.
Your co-operation with this is appreciated. FP

E-Safety Information Session for Parents Helping children to be sensible and respectful in their digital lives
Tuesday 11 February—6.30—7.30pm & repeat session on Wednesday 12 February—9.10—10.10am
The information session, led by Mr Davies and Mr Kelly, we believe will be of interest to parents of children in
any year group (Rec - Year 6 and beyond).
Please inform the front reception office by Wednesday 5th February if you are planning to attend a session.
If there is not enough interest, in either of the sessions, it will be cancelled.
Congratulations I am delighted to announce that Mr
and Mrs Davies are expecting their first
baby at the beginning of August. Many
of you will know that Mr and Mrs
Davies met as teachers at Tadworth
Primary and we would like to wish
Mrs Davies well for the pregnancy. JK
Value of the Month - Friendship Alex has Marty, Peter Pan has Wendy, Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and Dora has Boots. What do they have in common?
They are all good friends to each other. Friendship is an important part of life and some of our favourite cartoon
characters have a side kick that helps make life more fun and the tough times more bearable. That’s why this
month’s value is friendship. We want to be a school where friendship flourishes and everyone feels that there are
people who care about them. Friendships grow through all sorts of ways. You discover that someone else also
loves goldfish, or is good at the sport you like. Sometimes we find someone else laughs at the same jokes, or likes
the same TV programmes. Sometimes we make friends because someone helped us out when things were tough,
maybe because they faced the same struggles. Having a good mate can make all the difference. But in a school,
friendships can be tricky. We can use friendships to exclude others, make them feel sad, and left out. We can be
hurtful in breaking friendships for no good reason. Some people, especially if they are new to school find it hard
to make friends – they can feel that everyone seems to have a special buddy, apart from them. So, along with
valuing friendship and the special friends we may have, we want to be a school where everyone is ‘friendly’ –
where friendship groups expand with new people welcomed. Having someone new in your friendship group
means everyone benefits. So let’s enjoy our friends, maybe even tell them how special they are. Perhaps in the
next week you could be especially brave and reach out to someone who isn’t currently one of your friends and
welcome them into your group. They will be delighted. And so will you. NP

Ofsted’s Parent View
At parents evening in March, we will be asking all parents
to complete a paper version of our annual survey. This
forms a very important part of our evaluation of the school.
We would always ask that you don’t wait for a survey to
tell us if you are concerned about any aspect of your son/
daughter’s education and that, if this is the case, you make
an appointment in the first instance to see the class teacher.
Another way that parents can comment on the school’s
performance is via Ofsted’s Parent View (the questions are
the same as in our annual survey). You are welcome to do
this at anytime either by following the link on our website
or by going to:
