Senior Adult Day Trip to Cass West Virginia

    Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Departing the Church at 7:00 AM

We will step back in time and experience some of the sights and

sounds of the past. We will enjoy the unparalleled views of the

forested mountains all dressed up in the colors of fall and have

an up close encounter with logging locomotives capable of

climbing grades of up to 11%. The trip will include: Roundtrip

transportation on the church bus and van, lunch at The Last Run

Restaurant, a privately reserved Greenbrier River Car (which will

seat 35 to 40 comfortably) on 1 PM Whittaker Train (ride lasts

approximately 1:15) and visits to the Cass Showcase and The

Cass Historical Museum. It is suggested that you dress in layers

as the temperature can change by as much as 10 degrees as you

travel up the mountain in the open air car. Also you may want to

bring a pillow or cushion - the train seats are wooden benches.

    WLBC Praying for

ISAAN STUDENTS OF THAILANDThe boldness of a ninth-grade

student, B, to share her faith with her classmateshas opened the door to more ministry and

witness. Even though B was ridiculed by some

of her classmates, she and several youth

ministry leaders approached a new church start

in the area about helping with outreach at her

school. They were happy to go, and the ministry

team was well received at the school on their

first visit. One Christian leader said, God had

gone there first and paved the way! A camp forstudents at Bs school is now being planned with

the help of yet another church. Praise God for

faithful witnesses, and pray that many will come

to faith as a result of His work in all that is being

    done in this setting..

The little church in the suburbs suddenlystopped buying from its

regular office supply dealer. So, the dealertelephoned Deacon Brown to ask why.

"I'll tell you why," shouted Deacon Brown. "Ourchurch ordered some pencils from you to be

used in the pews for visitors to register."

"Well, interrupted the dealer, "didn't you receivethem yet?"

"Oh, we received them all right," replied DeaconBrown.

"However, you sent us some golf pencils...eachstamped with the words,`Play Golf Next Sunday.'"
