Coffee, water, doughnuts – Out the back door of the building to the canteen. Your $5 lunch fee almost covered this – Thanks to Keith Kotch KF4BXT for the doughnuts!

REFILLS DURING THE WORKSHOP-

Do not leave your computer unattended when going for refills or taking a break during the workshop. Leave your partner there to continue loading software or ask one of the experts to go get your coffee!

TERMINAL NODE CONTROLLER (TNC) Connect a TNC to a comport on the computer with the RS-232 cable.

Do you know which comport this is?

Do you know the serial baud rate for which the TNC is set?

These things are important. Learn them and make note.

TINYPAC – TNC DIAGNOSTIC PROGRAM

(AUTHOR Charlie Crook N3PPC)

• Determine com/serial port where TNC is connected

• Determine baud rate of TNC serial port

• Determine state of TNC (cmd:, KISS, HOST)

• Set state and baud rate of TNC.OS – Win 98 or newer. Use TINYPAC version for your OS!

AGW PACKET ENGINE – Use AGW PE to -

• allow access to a TNC/Radio port by more than one application.

• access more than one TNC/Radio port by any application.

• make automatic E-mail transfers with Paclink AGW.

PACLINK POST OFFICE – E-MAIL SERVER

Establishes -

• the ham radio call sign / e-mail account for this computer.

• non-ham tactical e-mail accounts to be processed by this computer.

OS – Win 2000, WinXP. Should be on internet when loaded.

PACLINK AGW – TRANSFER PROGRAM

Automatically transfers

• outgoing e-mail mime files from user accounts to TNC/Radio port to TelPac node.

•incoming e-mail mime files from Telpac Node to user accounts on this computer.

OUTLOOK EXPRESS – E-MAIL CLIENT

Once Paclink AGW is working - all messaging is done using your standard e-mail client. All other programs are transparent and run in the background.

• Create an e-mail account for your Paclink Post Office account in Outlook Express.

TELPAC NODE – BRIDGE TO INTERNET E-MAIL

Generally tactical computers will not be running Telpac Nodes while in the field as a Telpac Node must have an internet connection to make this bridge to internet e-mail.

Loading this program on your computer today will be a learning exercise so you can do it on another computer when needed.

OS – Win98 or newer. Pre-registration of Telpac Node required

TELPAC NODE – BRIDGE TO INTERNET E-MAIL

When a packet station links to a Telpac Node -

• Telpac links the packet station to a distant PMBO.

• E-mail exchanges are made between the packet station and the PMBO.

Telpac computer must have an internet connection to make this bridge to internet e-mail.

OS – Win 98 or newer. Pre-registration of Telpac Node required

When you load this program for real you must first register it at www.winlink.org.

Lat/Long of the Telpac Node

Call letters of at least one distant WL2K PMBO that runs a Telnet Server.
