e-foods was founded in Manchester by Managing Director Paul Mizen in 2004. Paul knew that, in common with many industries, e-commerce was changing the landscape of the hospitality and catering sectors.

Hodgson Fish

Hodgson Fish is one of the best-known fishmongers on the East Coast. They supply the freshest of fish and deliver to top hotels and restaurants throughout the North of England.

W.Hodgson was established in the fishing port of Hartlepool in 1916 when it was mainly whiting, haddock, cod and plaice that dominated the slabs. Times have changed and now Tuna, Swordfish, Black Tilapia, Bream and Sea Bass take their place in their delivery vans too.

Hodgson Fish’s own fleet brings back cod, whiting, haddock, lemon sole, Dover sole, turbot, brill and of course prawns or langoustines. Landed at dawn they’re on the delivery rounds ready to take their place on the menu.

Their purpose built factory has all the latest refrigeration and processing equipment to ensure that landed fish are kept as fresh as when it was hauled into the nets.
