Blogs
Blogging - discussion How could KN use blogs? Who would be the audience and what could you blog
about? Tips for blogging
– Contribute often, short items more frequently, rather than long items less frequently. Give people a reason to come back, and they will come back.
– Avoid the magisterial style - to invite people into a conversation, use a more conversational tone.
– Respond to your audience: from comments you get a sense of why your audience visits your community and ideas for how to proceed in the future.

– Research and follow the most common #tags (hashtags) in your area
– Introduce new #tags sparingly Ask questions and share the things you are doing as
well as useful links– @[twittername] (speak to someone and your mutual
followers)– D [twittername] (DM = speak directly to one person)
Re-post valuable links – RT (retweet)
Lists help make sense of the flood
Twitter - discussion How could K&N use Twitter? Who would be the audience and what could you tweet
about? Let’s experiment: write a tweet (less than 140 char.)
about:– The progress of Zika virus– The Panama papers– In reply to UK ambassador writing on the museums– An event in K&N that will interest investors and/or holiday
makers– An event or paper that will interest your Caribbean
colleagues– Other?
Facebook - discussion How could KN use Facebook for eDiplomacy? Who would be the audience and what could you blog
about? Tips for Facebook : think of yourself or your team as a cross
between a party host and a wise uncle or auntie!– Look for people you know e.g. in your personal and
professional networks and invite to connect– Introduce them to each other, compliment them on their
ideas, content, jokes, photos– Post content that will appeal to your audiences and
connections:• FB is essentially now a photo sharing site• Content has currency – people like to share (it increases
endorphins!)• Dispense comments and wise advice: be helpful and answer
questions– Comment on your friends’ updates and content
