Pass out a copy of the TEA Campus Statewide Summary, District Improvement Plan (DIP), Sam Houston Campus Improvement Plan (CIP), and TEKS for Technology Applications,
Purpose is to present STaR Chart data in graphical form1
and for teachers to begin thinking about the reasons for the changes fro “Advanced Tech” to “Developing Tech” in certain areas. And to discuss the effects on
Explain to the teachers that the STaR data is representation of their knowledge in the implementation of technology in their instruction and its uses. Explain also how that ultimately affects student improvement.
1. Pass out a graph identifying the three years of STaR Chart data, identifying the changes that occurred, a copy of the CIP and DIP and AEIS data.
2. Allow three minutes to glance at the information.

3. Ask teachers to think about their current teaching strategies.
State the purpose for the Professional Development session. Identify the “Key Areas” in the STaR Chart and allow teachers time to collaborate and provide possible reasons for the decreases from Advanced Tech to Developing Tech.
Purpose is for teachers to analyze the graph and collaborate to identify and reflect on the possible reasons for the decreases and their limitation on how to implement technology in their instruction, as well as comparing it to school improvement data.
Describe the reason we are coming together as a professional learning community. Explain the importance of making certain that implementing technology during instruction is an integral part of students’ learning and how we can develop a plan of action to improve.
1. State the reason why they are being asked to come together.
2. Use the graph to guide teachers in identifying the strengths and weaknesses in the Key Areas of the STaR Chart and correlate them to the goals of the CIP and DIP, AEIS report as well as review the TEKS for Technology.
3. Give teachers chart paper and have them provide 3 ways they can immediately implement technology in their instruction.
4. Walk around to observe teacher collaboration process.
5. Provide guidance on Technology TEKS objectives
