Every person has his own choice and taste. That’s the reason when someone watches Burgers, Pani puri, Roshogullaaaa, or simply a Dosa gets enchanted!! When u want to eat them but have no source to have them, only way is “COOK YOURSELF”. Many people find it very difficult. For those it is not, they find it lazy. Specially students, exhausted working professionals. The key to cook is keep it simple. Remember you don't have to impress someone. You are a learner ( Well! I presume that , as you are reading this book). So rather beating around the bush, I will hit the point. KEEP IT SIMPLE Always keep your way simple. Too more complexities may end up into a mess. Think what you want to eat. Say you want to have masala rice. But you never cooked it. So what!! Make your own version. Go to Google search for a recipe and note down. Now open your freeze and see what you have and ignore items in list that you don't have . So take rice, put simple masa- la , put some veggies and your rice is done! Wasn't it simple! So next time if you plan for some- thing to cook...keep it simple! GO BY WORDS I Know you would say “Actions speaks louder than words”, but here don't go by watching out anyone’s action, just go by words . Ok I will clear it with example say you want to have burnt garlic noodles. You would say OMG!! How to do that & there comes my tip number 2 Go By Words it says “Burnt Garlic Noodles”. So just boil noodles, Burn some garlic in oil, put readymade noodles spices mix . Stir them well and your noodles are ready!! You see the “power of words” FEEL THE AROMA Aroma is one thing that arose your senses and you start salivating. So always where ever you are, at any food stall, food truck, hotel, restaurant, just feel the aroma and identify it. It will develop your great skill for identifying spices that will suits your taste buds. When potatoes are deep fried it smells like simply salted chips packet; when you open them. So if you want to have say wedges, cut the potatoes deep fry them and feel the aroma while they fry and then your mind will send signal of you eating wedges ordered from some restaurant, that because u related the aroma with what you have prepared!!!! So just try above tip and you will love what ever you do!! PERMUTATION & COMBINATION Sounds a bit mathematical! For those who don't know it, let me put it in simple way. Take any combination of veggies, meat, spices, sauces in any number with a bit rational behind it. Since we all know at least basic taste of all that we took to cook! So take them and mix together. Say you take some fresh vegies and mix them with a dash of mayonnaise and mustard sauce and put it between a French bread loaf; your “coleslaw” sub is ready!! RIGHT PANS Make sure you always use a right pan for cooking. Avoid using steel and wrought iron and even non stick with thin base , food tend to get burn fast in such pans. Always have thick base pans for cooking. Liquid food use cylindrical shape pans. For omlet, dosas, pan cakes use spherical shapes pan. Otherwise it would serving a crane in flat plate!

GENEROUS SEASONING Salt is the most common seasoning agent. Put salt generously…. Aaa aa aaa I don't mean make it too

salty...but proportionate!! Use oregano, mixed herbs, spices as seasoning. I will add that extra factor to your

dish!! A good tip will be add a pinch of sugar to salty dishes and a pinch of salt to deserts, expect those have

milks. Seasoning will add an edge to your cooking and you may get a zest to taste it

NO “FAST”

While cooking its important to maintain the flame. Keep your cooking gas on medium flame, not too fast, not

too slow! Even not to mention don't be in hurry. Cooking is great stress busting activity. So go calmly. Even if

you are doing microwave cooking always select proper mode and check after a regular interval of time. In a

mode to cook quickly don't put flame high, but cover with a lid and see the magic of steam!!

LOOK AT SHELVES

Now this is the shortcut. In today’s era of Readymade, you may get many ready to cook at supermarket

shelves. You get what not there!!! From Italian Lasagna to Indian malbar paratha. From Thai pad noodles to

Japanese Shushi… Just bring home, thaw and cook as simple as that. If you don't like the taste and want to

customize just add some seasoning agents like pepper, slat or some spices. Remember one thing, always put

them in hot oil and then spread over. It will enhance the taste. So you may consider this option as well!!

COOK IT REGIONAL Always start with what you have daily course of meal. If you belong to any particular state with a pattern

or peculiarity to cook something signature try to get good hands on over it!! This activity will help in under-

standing your own food culture and then you can go on exploring and cooking other cuisines and culinary.

Now that you know, you may experiment with same and can come out with something new!!

is that art when backed with a perfect rational and sound knowledge will be a science of culinary and cuisines. Its now a quite a

make sure that inquisitive child in you should never die! Its his curiosity that will make you visit you laboratory (kitchen) and
