1) Fosfo-sgrassaggio a T=40°C
tempo senza graffi e danni. Sarà cura dell’utente finale
prevedere una corretta manutenzione, atta a ritardare
l’invecchiamento naturale.
step
Paint cycle description
The steps of E.T.A. standard painting cycle applications are the following:
1) Degreasing and cleaning at 40°C
2) Double step of rinse with water at room temperature
3) Rinse with de-mineralized water at room temperature and blowing
4) Drying in oven at 140°C for 20’
5) Electrostatic painting based on anticorrosive powder for outdoor environments with low or moderate pollusion, saline corrosivity.
I layer with epoxypolyester powder based on anticorrosive pigments
6) Polymerization in oven at 185°C for 20’.
II layer with polyester powder based on zinc
7) Polymerization in oven at 185°C for 20’ Total thickness >140 micron On request it is possible to realize multilayers with highter thickness for the panels and different finishings as the stardard RAL 7035 The degreasing and rinsing stages are very critical and they are needed to clean and passivate the metallic surface so as to support the adhesion of powder and to protect the surface from corrosion due to weather agents (rain, sand, wind), mechanical impact (scratches, bumps) and chemical stress (processes using oils or 5% diluted acids and bases). Quality and durability are referring to intact products,
without any damage or scratches.
It is responsibility of the end-user to provide proper
maintenance in order to delay the natural ageing process
INTERNAL QUALITY TESTS ON SPECIMENS End of cycle: inline visual inspection at 100% Laboratory tests performed in E.T.A. through weekly tests of the process on specimens:

- esame visivo della superficie
- prova spessore [fig. 1]
- prova adesione (ISO 2409)
- prova foratura [fig. 2] CONTROLLI QUALITATIVI IN LABORATORI ESTERNI
- test di resistenza all’umidità secondo ISO 6270 CONTROLLO QUALITÀ DELLA POLVERE STANDARD SU LAMIERINI NORMATI
adeguata

EXTERNAL QUALITY TESTS ON SPECIMENS
Test performed periodically on E.T.A. specimens:
- salt spray test according to ISO 9227 [fig3]
- water condensation test according to ISO 6270
QUALITY TEST OF THE STANDARD POWDER
Test performed by the supplier of the powder on normalized specimens painted by the supplier:
-test in corrosive atmosphere: read the data sheet for salt spray test (solution of sodium + chloride) according to ISO 9227
-water condensation test: read the data sheet of the powder according to ISO 6270
THE CHOICE OF THE POWDER COATING ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION In the harsh environments the following factors are tipical : air, ice, snow, rain, sunlight, wind, warm dump atmosphere, pollution, chemicals. As consequence, it is necessary to choose a cabinet with a suitable IP protection degree (very important to evaluate the installation of a roof on the top for environment and sun irradiation protection ), also choose an adequate protective film of paint ; indeed, the application of finishing of polyester powder provides UV resistance and a good primer ensures a protective barrier against the corrosion of the metallic sheet. We suggest you to contact E.T.A. technical staff for a
proper solusion.

Periodicamente (almeno 2 volte all’anno) E.T.A. sottopone campioni verniciati a test ambientali. SCHEDE TECNICHE

Fig.4
C1: molto basso C2:low corrosivity( Neutral environments ) C3:moderate corrosivity (cities, industrial plants) C4: High corrosivity (chemical industries, coastal areas with moderate salinity) C5: Very high corrosivity (petrochemical industries, marine environments, offshore)
OVERPAINTING
As tested and confirmed by E.T.A. suppliers, all the powders used by E.T.A. can be overpainted with varnishes and powders after careful cleaning of the surface. In case of overpainting, the specific instructions provided by the supplier of powder and varnishes in terms of time and temperature have to be considered to obtain the best result. IN CASE OF CONDENSATION
In case of high relative humidity (i.e. outdoor applications where relative humidity can reach 100% at 25°C), the enclosure can be subject to condensate formation, which negatively affects the equipment: in this case, adequately sized heating or conditioning units shall be used. Please refer to the E.T.A. catalogue. CORROSION RESISTANCE
The duration of the products under salty fog test and humidity test depends on:
-technical features of the sheet steel
-manufacturing process
-washing cycle
-painting cycle
-technical features of the powder.
The duration (indoor and outdoor) depends on the different levels of corrosive condition of the environment. Periodically (not less then twice per year) E.T.A. performs environmental tests on specimens painted by different powders.
