FOR YOUR OWNSAFETY

Before putting thecleaner into operation, besure to also read theenclosed operatinginstructions thoroughlyand keep them close athand for future reference.

The cleaner may only beused by persons trained inits use and expresslyauthorised to use it.

This cleaner is not suitablefor picking up health-

endangering dusts.

GENERAL

Operation of this cleaneris subject to theapplicable national

regulations.

In addition to theseoperating instructions andthe binding regulations on accidentpreventionapplicable in the countryof use, the generallyacknowledged technicalrules for safe and correctworking must also be

observed.

Any method of workendangering health or

safety is forbidden!

APPLIANCE PLUGSOCKET

Before connecting anyappliance to the applianceplug socket, the cleanermust always be

switched off.

CAUTION!The operatinginstructions and thesafety precautionscontained therein mustbe observed whenusing appliancesconnected to theappliance plug socketof the cleaner.

USING FOR THE FIRSTTIME

Before using the cleanerfor the first time, checkthat it is in a good andsafe condition.Plugs and connectors ofmains leads must be atleast splash water-proof.Check the mainsconnection and mains

plug.Inspect the mains lead atregular intervals fordamage or signs ofageing. Use the cleaneronlywhen the mains lead is ina good and safecondition.(Damaged mains leadspresent a danger ofelectric shocks!)

FIRE AND EXPLOSIONHAZARD

The following materialsmust not be picked upwith the cleaner:_ Hot materials (glowing

cigarettes, hot ashes,etc.)

_ Inflammable, explosiveor aggressive fluids(e.g. petrol, solvents, acids, alkalines, etc.)

_ Inflammable, explosivedusts (e.g. magnesiumor aluminium dust,

etc.).

If appliances areconnected to theappliance plug socket, ensure that theseappliances are alsoswitched off when beingconnected to theappliance plug socket.

HEALTH-ENDANGERINGDUSTS *)

Use the cleaner only withan undamaged filter

element.*) For tested safety cleaners of dust clases L,M, H and B1, observe

the instructions in the operating manual.

DURING OPERATION

Take care not to damagethe mains lead (e.g. bydriving over, pinching ordragging). Pull out themains plug only directly atthe plug, i.e. not by

pulling at the mains lead.

Before picking up liquids, the filter bag must beremoved and the functionof the float switchchecked. If foaming is observed, stop work immediately

and empty the tank.

MAINTENANCE ANDREPAIR

CAUTION!Before cleaning andservicing the cleaner, always remove themains plug.

Carry out onlymaintenance operationsdescribed in theseoperating instructions.Use only original Wap

spare parts.

Do not make anytechnical modifications tothe cleaner.CAUTION!Your safety could be

endangered as a result!

For all othermaintenance and repairwork, please contactthe Wap Servicedepartment or anauthorised specialistworkshop!

ELECTRICALEQUIPMENT

Check the rated voltageof the cleaner beforeconnecting it to the mainspower supply. Ensurethat the voltage specifiedon the rating platecorresponds to the local

mains voltage.

When connected to themains power supply witha mains lead of type H 07RN-F 3G 1.5 mm², thecleaner may also be usedoutdoors. When using an extensionlead or replacing themains lead, the lead typespecified by themanufacturer must alwaysbe used.

We recommend that thepower supply to thecleaner be connected viaan earth-leakage circuitbreaker which interruptsthe power supply either ifthe earth leakage currentexceeds 30 mA for 30ms, or it contains anearthing test currentcircuit.

When using an extensionlead, observe theminimum cross-sections ofthe leads:

Cable length Cross-section m mm² up to 20 1.5

20 to 50 2.5

Always arrange thecurrent-carrying parts(plug sockets, plugs andconnectors) and layextension leads so thatthe protection class of thecleaner is maintained.

CAUTION!Never spray the topsection of the cleanerwith water: Danger forpersons, danger of short

circuits.

The latest edition of theIEC Regulations must be

observed.

APPLICATION

The Dynamics 440 S/840-M/B1 isan industrial vacuum cleaner ofusage class M and is thus suitablewhen used properly for vacuumingup dry, non-flammable dusts witha lower toxic limit > 0.1 mg/m3.

The safety vacuum cleaner is alsoapproved for picking up dry, flammable dusts in explosionclasses St1, St2 and St3 in zone 11(Model 1).

The safety vacuum cleaner is notsuitable for picking up andremoving explosive substances orother substances or liquids of thesame nature within the meaningof §1 of the Explosive SubstancesAct, or mixtures of flammable dustand liquids.

CAUTION!The vacuum cleaner must not beset up in gas explosion hazardareas (e.g. paint shops).

USE AS AN INDUSTRIALVACUUM CLEANER(Switch position I or II)

The safety vacuum cleaner issuitable for picking up dry, flammable dusts in Zone 11 (seeElexV, § 2(4)), but is not approvedfor removing dust from machiningequipment.

Only use the approved accessorieswith a bleeder resistor of max. 1 MΩ!

USE AS A DUST REMOVER(Switch position A)

The safety vacuum cleaner issuitable for removing dry, flammabledusts in zone 11 (see ElexV, § 2(4)),on condition that the possibility ofeffective ignition sources beingpicked up is absolutely precluded.

Use conductive suction devices.Machining equipment must beelectrostatically earthed.

INSPECTIONS AND APPROVALS

Electrotechnically tested by theGerman SLG.Based on the test in accordancewith EN 60335-1 / EN 60335-2-69,the vacuum cleaner is suitable forincreased loading duringcommercial use.

At a filter surface load ≤ 200 m3 xm-2 x h-1 the vacuum cleaner has apermeability of < 0.5 % and thuscorresponds to the usage class„M“ due to its other equipment.

The filter paper of the filter cartridgehas been tested by the German BIAas per ZH 1/487, Para. 2. The meanpermeability is certainly less than 0.1% at a velocity in blower stream of0.05 m/sec.

Electrotechnical tests must beconducted as per VDE 0105 inaccordance with the regulations ofthe German Accident PreventionRegulation (VBG4) and as per DINVDE 0701 Parts 1 and 3. Thesetests are required in accordancewith DIN VDE 0702 at regularintervals and following servicing orchanges.

USE/OPERATION

PREPARING THE VACUUMCLEANER, MOUNTING THEHANDLE

AUTOMATIC FILTER CLEANING(Fig. 7)

The cleaning time is set withswitch S2 (T on).

Switch S2 set to 0:cleaning function is switched off.

Switch S2 set to 1 to 9:Cleaning time 1 to 18 secondsExample:Switch position 5:5 x 2 secs. = 10 secs.

The interval between two filtercleaning operations is set with theswitch S3 (T off).

The possible settings are 0 to 15: thisrepresents 0 to 6 min. 25 secs. (thesetting must be multiplied by 25).

Example:Switch setting 9:9 x 25 secs. = 225 sec. = 3 min. 45 secs.

CONTACT LOOP CONTROL (Fig. 7)

The point at which the secondturbine is switched on, is set withswitch S1 (Turb. 2)(Dynamics 840 S only).

Switch S1 (Turb. 2) can be setbetween 0 and 15.As soon as the number of activesuction points is higher than theset value, the second turbine isswitched on.
