A dye sensitized solar cell consists of two conducting glass electrodes
electrode (1) is coated with a thin layer of titanium dioxide stained with the dye which produces electrons by photo excitation
electrode (2) is coated with graphite carbon layer which helps the transfer of electrons through the iodide electrolyte back to electrode (1)
in a sandwich arrangement with an iodide electrolyte.
