3.1. Front

Disc Loading Tray (1) Open the loading tray by pressing the eject button, then set a CD or DVD disc with the label facing up. Push the front part of tray to load the tray with the disc. BUSY Indicator (23) It is lit when the data on the disc is accessed.. Eject Button (3) To unload the disc, press the button. Forced Eject hole (4) Insert a stiff rod into the hole and push to eject the tray when the tray doesn’t unload by pressing the Eject button. In the normal operation, the eject button should be used to unload the tray. Make sure the power of the drive is turned off and wait more than one minute till the disc rotation is stopped when access the eject hole. Notes: The drive corresponds to GBAS. GBAS is “Generic Bezel Attachment Specification” by Dell Computer Corporation.

Driver unit Clearance
Overall unit height of the diagonal area in the diagram above is 12.7+/-0.2. Other areas (excluding product label and top metal sheet curling) are 12.7+0.5/-0.2. Product label thickness is 0.1 or less. If force is exerted in areas outside of the range of force (see Range of force), problems may occur with the loading mechanism. It is recommended to secure >0.5 clearance (13.2 from the Z plane) between the unit and chassis.
