DVD Print Screens

Page 2: Dvd print screens

This was the starting of the DVD as this was supposed to be the crunched paper which represents a love story or a crumbled up note. The reason I chose this was because he set the narrative in the DVD as the 2 young children were in love but soon fall apart.

This was the girl that was going to be the secondary image. The way she is standing reflects on her childish behaviour also by her dress sense it also makes hr seem like a little child.

I wanted a mid shot of her as I wanted to place her on the side where you could only see half of her.

After editing the image with the magic wand, and rubber it gave her a smooth finish.

Page 5: Dvd print screens

I placed the image on the scrunched up paper, firstly I wanted her at the front, however I thought that the front cover may seem to crowded.

Page 6: Dvd print screens

Furthermore, the reason I chose this image was because you could see the tension in the characters as they have stood apart from each other.

I only wanted the image of Junaid as he was looking at the actress.

Page 7: Dvd print screens

I cut the actress as my main focus was on Junaid right now.

The tool I used for that was the slicing tool which allowed me to cut off any image of part which was unwanted.

After getting rid of the green screen with the magic wand, I flipped him around the other side as that would mean that he were looking on the other side of the DVD cover, towards the back.

I did not want there to be direct eye contact with the character and the audince as I wanted the audience to be curious at the actor to see what was he looking at.

Page 9: Dvd print screens

When I placed the actor on the front cover it seemed to over crowed at the front page, which made me deicded on placing the actress on the other side of the dvd as that meant that the actor was looking directly at her and the audience would have to to flip the cover around to see who he was looking at.

I wanted a filmstrip on the DVD cover for it was to represent a time line to show their love and departure from each other towards the end.

The straight filmstrip looked a bit boring which is why I went for the swirls one.

Page 11: Dvd print screens

I started to edit the filmstrip, by emptying the middle parts of them, as wanted to fill them with small images of the characters.

I had to be very careful with the editing of this as it was a small filmstrip, so I decided the best way to do It was by using the rubber and rubbing out small chunks.

Page 12: Dvd print screens

This image illustrated the characters togetherness and show them like a couple.

The characters were school children which allowed us to aim our music video at the younger target audience.

This would be appealing to the audience as the can relate their emotions with the characters and what they go through.

Page 13: Dvd print screens

Following that, I edited the image and smoothed out the rough edges by using a smoothing tool. The reason I did this was because it make it seem like a professional effect. This would appela more to the audience then a normal image.

Page 14: Dvd print screens

I had to have a heart somewhere in the DVD as this whole theme was love. I chose this specific heart because it was a nice clear red colour and naturally had a warm feel to it.

Page 15: Dvd print screens

I wrote the title on the top of the page as that is where the titles are generally written.

I chose to do a slanted writing as I knew that, that is what they use in love story or love poems.

The strap line underneath it was a sentence from the lyrics, and described the narrative well and the actors personality.

Page 16: Dvd print screens

I placed the title on the top of the DVD cover as it would be clear to read and this is generally where title for DVDs tend to be. I did not want to break this code and convention as I thought it would confuse the audience.

Page 17: Dvd print screens

When taking this image I zoomed into the characters hands to emphasize their relationship.

Page 18: Dvd print screens

I edited the image by the magic wand and then rubbing out the small details.

I shrunk the image as I knew I would have to place it in a small filmstrip.

Page 19: Dvd print screens

This images was taken because it I wanted to show the differences between them and how they do not feel the same for each other anymore. Both characters are looking away to reveal to the audience that they are no longer together.

On top of that the space between each other is evident for their break up also.

Page 20: Dvd print screens

This is what the images looked like after my editing.

Page 21: Dvd print screens

This image illustrates how the actor is in the past and how he can not get over what he has lost.

I edited this into a black and white image to high light the gradual change and the time difference.

I kept the actress the same as she has moved on with her life and does not live in the past wondering what could have been hers.

I slightly slanted her so she can fit into the filmstrip wit ease.

Page 22: Dvd print screens

I inserted the images into the filmstrip by moving them across to it.

As you can see the how all the images fit nicely into the filmstrip to make one continuous storyline. The gradual change in their relationship is evident because they are together in one image and then further down thy have moved apart.

Page 23: Dvd print screens

I took this image to expose how desperate he becomes as he realises that he has lost her.

However you can see the way she has turned her back towards him and does not want to be interested anymore.

I chose this to be the last image on the filmstrip as it ends the storyline nicely and gives more emphasize on the ending of their relationship.

I edited this image and placed it in the filmstrip.
