Tere has been a urry o activity o late! On May 31 we co-sponsored (with the Library Company) a very stimulating talk given by odd Pattison on 19th century bookbinder BenjaminBradley. odd has been studying Bradley or a long time now and had some really interesting new things to say about hisdevelopment as a businessman. Alice Austin was able to collectthirty books or Philadelphia Artists Books ravel to Venice. Isaw many o you at the opening on June 3rd at the Athenaeum. It was such a nice gathering. Now she is wondering how she willmanage to carry all the books on and of the plane and to theScoula in Venice! Many thanks go to Alice (and as always, herhusband Jon Snyder) or all their hard work. And on June 15,ten DVC members visited the book conservation departmentat Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library hosted by DVCmember Chela Metzger. It was a very in ormative morning

ollowed by a lunch outside. It was a beauti ul day and some

people stayed the a ternoon to wander the gardens, museum, and house. Te summer is looking to be rather quiet (maybethat is good) but I would like to schedule one o our popularFast, Friendly, Free Events. Got any ideas? For those o youhave never attended one, they are very short, usually held ona Saturday morning or a ternoon and no money exchangeshands, except or supplies. We have tried various things likepaste papers, label making, paper olding, unique structures, and a stash exchange. It is low-key and un. I know many o you have something you could share!
