What is Dustbinator?

Critical (Must clear trash)

Medium (May clear trash)

Dustbinator is an Arduino powered smart dustbin that tells you when it is time to

take out the trash. It makes use of an IR sensor that measures the level of trash in

the dustbin. Based on the level of trash in the bin, the Trash Level Indicator

attached to the dustbin will light up. If the amount of trash in the dustbin is low

then the green light will be on and for medium the yellow light will be on and

red color indicates that the trash is full and requires to be cleaned.

The DustbinatorThe nal version of dustbinator is shown below

The Future of DustbinatorOne of the major issues we faced was that dustbinator runs on a 9V battery and hence

needs periodic replacement of batteries. A way to overcome this diculty is to use a

small solar panel to power the dustbinator, thus making it useful in public spaces like

parks and bus stops.
