Week 6: July 27 - 31Abstract Acrylic -Abstract art is most accessible to young artists! During this week each student will be given different tools (combs, brushes, sticks, scrapers, feathers) and acrylic paint (learning the color wheel, mixing original colors and layering). The idea will be to avoid representational art and instead enjoy shapes, colors and textures that please the inner artist. After experimenting for several days, everyone will be given their own canvas to create a final piece.

Week 7: August 3 - 7 Out of this World - Blast off into adventure! Prepare to take a journey into outer space where we will be exploring the wonders of our solar system and beyond. Art projects will include creating our own planets and constellations, and a whole lot of paint splattering to make realistic looking galaxies! Science meets imagination when the real facts about the wonders of space and the fantasy of aliens and astrology collide. We will be launching rockets out in the field and ending the week with a visit from a giant inflatable water slide.

Week 3: July 6 - 10Radical Renaissance - Inspired by our love of arts and sciences, we will explore topics surrounding the European Renaissance. Inspired by DaVinci, Michelangelo, and Galileo, we will engage in science experiments and creating art. Art projects will include flower garland/crown making, stained glass art, crest/shield design, and even some inventions of our own! We will also be engaging in some more hands on activities on our field trip to OMSI!

Week 4: July 13 - 17Challenge Yourself - Our imaginations will soar as each day brings a new challenge for design and competition through many different activities. Who will construct the biggest tower or the most secure egg drop? We will be working to beat the clock with games, contests, and STEM activities. Start stretching your mind and body as we participate in individual and group challenges both big and small. These mixed age activities are designed to be fun, collaborative, and motivational. Our minds, physical fitness and creativity will be put to the test on our field trip to Ultra Zone laser tag!

Week 5: July 20 - 24 Amazing Race - Join us for a race around the world! This year our travels include the snowy Antarctica and the wild Savannah in Africa. We will be making pretzels and drinking root beer from Germany and finishing our tour in Japan where we will be creating our own robots and participating in some wild Japanese game show activities! We will also be taking a field trip to Kings Pins bowling alley.

Our Camp Session WeeksDuniway All Stars Child Care (DAS) summer camp will have exciting themes for 2020! Each week focuses on a fun and awesome theme that includes at least one enrichment activity with hands-on and interactive projects relating to the theme of the week. In addition, every day includes outdoor activities and art projects which will encourage your child’s creativity to soar!!

Week 1: June 22 -26 Creative Antics - Imagination comes alive! We are getting gross with exploding art, creepy-crawly crafts, painting with your feet and more silliness. We will also explore famous creative minds and learn new ways to create new and unusual art. Let your imagination run wild and unleash the artist from within you! Show up ready to get messy as we dive into a world of paint and color.

Week 2: June 29 - July 2 (Closed the 3rd of July) Awesome Authors - This week we will be celebrating some of our favorite authors. We will create a large group mural in the style of Eric Carle and Leo Lionni. We will have a full day of wizarding school just like JK Rowling's Harry Potter. Wacky Wednesday will be a celebration of Dr. Seuss. We will create candy collages and ginormous candy just like Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka. The kids will also learn several book binding techniques so they can create books of their own! Our field trip this week is to the Oregon Zoo.
