We were inspired by the guest speakers—Rove McManus, Erin Molan, Bianca Chatfield and John Coutiss who told us of their struggles and dreams and what made them become the people they are today. It was a long trip but we were able to walk around the harbour and go to Maroubra Beach in the afternoon as well as make new friends with students from Currabubula, Duri and Woolomin. Hip Hop Performance Our students enjoyed travelling to Brazil, New York and India through a dancing experience taught by Shaymla. P&C Working Bee The P&C have organised a Working Bee for Sunday, 15th March starting at 9.00am. Some of the jobs on our list are the gardens and the sports shed— emptying, cleaning out and re-organising. There will be a free BBQ lunch. If you are able to come, even for an hour, we would be very appreciative. Life Education The Life Education van will return to our school on Wednesday, 25th March. Our students will learn about positive friendships, making healthy choices and personal safety. Life Education do a wonderful job delivering their education programs to schools. Easter Hat Parade and Assembly Our Easter Hat Parade and special assembly will commence on Monday, 6th April at 10.00am. We will begin with our formal assembly where the students will present class items and give a musical performance. The assembly will conclude with the parade and parents are invited to stay for morning tea. An invite to all The Dungowan P and C would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend

our upcoming P and C meeting at 6pm next Monday 16th March.

At the monthly P and C meetings we discuss upcoming plans to support the school and opportunities

for our students. Mrs Hubble provides a monthly update of activities and what is coming up for the

school. We have lots of laughs and everyone is welcome to come and get involved.

Did you know in the last 12 months the P and C:

☐ Raised close to $23,800

☐ Paid just shy of $24,000 for excursions, equipment and sponsorship for Dungowan School

☐ Saved each family close to $500 per student in excursion and school costs. Most local schools need

to pay contributions to activities which are free at Dungowan.

☐ The P and C have also purchased accident and injury insurance to help cover any student who

may be injured at Dungowan, as this is not covered by the Department of Education.

Please take the time to come along to our monthly meetings or volunteer your time at an upcoming fundraiser. We’d love to see

more of you and we appreciate the help.
