5.1 Intern at Tiger Brands

Located in Johannesburg.

Most relevant accomplishment as an intern at Tiger Brands: I worked with Karabo Mokanyane the Group Marketing Manager. This internship improved my knowledge about business acumen. I learned a lot about commercial awareness.

5.2 Worked at Silvertone International.

Fine Art Printing Company located in Johannesburg

Summary of job scope: I gained the knowledge and skill how to work with PHOTOSHOP. I did some editing on photographs. I now have excellent practical experience in the creative and printing industry. Independence and self-confidence are skills acquired. At Silvertone International I also learned how to adapt to the companies culture and how to work effective in a team.

Summary of job scope: This has taught me how to work under stress and how important time management is .I gained exposure to creative and photography industry. I gained the knowledge and skill as to how to work with people under stressful situations and how to work hard and long hours.

Summary of job scope: I had to plan, organize and implement the whole NWU Top Management Diary launch. 500 guests (The North West University’s top management, the student council, all the executive committees and house committees) attended this event. Leadership, communication, planning, risk taking, team work, problem solving and conflict management where the main traits that I have learned.

Summary of job scope: Contacting and managing the Alumni of the Church to gain funds. Developing new and creative ways to market the Church. I also used social media as a marketing platform.

5) LIFE EXPERIENCE

6.1 Leadership experience

House Committee of Minjonet Ladies Hostle for the term 2015/2016 with the portfolio Primaria, Seniors and Discipline.

This term have learnt me so much about managing people, problem solving, finding creative solutions, handling critic and motivating and inspiring people. This gave me excellent experience on how to work with different cultures and different people.

Marketing and Public Affairs: Executive Committee of the North-West University Potchefstroom Campus during 2014-2015.

Time management, team work and perseverance are the three main skills that I have learned during this term. My portfolio was clothing and social. I learned how to do business with large companies. I gained the knowledge to motivate, inspire and encourage people. We were 13 on the committee and had to plan the open day of The North West University 2015, we did all the internal and external marketing of the University.

House Committee of Minjonet Ladies Hostel during 2013-2014.

My portfolio was Student Affairs and clothing. This term had taught me that if you have a passion for what you do, you will achieve success. I now have excellent experience of how to work with people and problem solving. Analytical thinking is critical when it comes to being on the house committee and also to be sensitive when working with people.

I was part of the Student community service committee of Minjonet Ladies Hostel in 2012.

I was part of the Student affairs committee, Marketing committee, RAG committee and Student community service committee of Minjonet Ladies Hostel in 2013.

6.2 Computer skills

- Using Windows- Photoshop- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)- Internet- E-mail

6.3 Culture- Art. I had Visual Art as a subject on school from 2007 to 2011. My matric end mark was 92%. - Public speaking. From 2007 to 2011 I did public speaking. - Dance. In 2012 I participated in the first year concert as a dancer.- Cheerleader. In 2011 I was on the cheerleading team of the school.- Drama. I had Drama lessons from 2007 to 2009- Musical. In 2011 in participated in the school musical ‘Greece’ as a ‘Vince girl’.

The above gave me the confidence to speak in front of people and to always be creative and to think out of the box.

6.4 Sport

- Hockey. I played Hockey for my schools second team from 2007 to 2010. This has taught me discipline and team work.

- Tennis. I played Tennis from 2005 to 2011 for my school.

- Soccer. I played Soccer for Minjonet Ladies Hostels’ first team in 2012, 2013 and 2015.- Volleyball. I played Volleyball for Minjonet Ladies Hostels’ second team in 2012 and 2013.

The above sports has taught me discipline and team work.

6.5 Community activities

- Miss Minjonet where I was crowned second Princess.- Mozambique outreach in 2008.- Malawi outreach in 2014.- VCSV beach outreach in 2013.- VCSV beach outreach in 2014 as the leader.

I have a big passion for people and all of the above outreaches had taught me to be compassionate towards people. I am proud of my strong moral values. My life’s vision is to make a difference in people’s lives.

6.6 Entrepreneurship

Flora-Graphy. I started my own photography business for some extra pocket money. I created my own Facebook page for the marketing. I took photos of weddings, graduation days, couple shoots, event shoots, friend’s shoots and portrait shoots. This had taught me to be innovative and creative. I also learned how to maintain and to gain competitive advantage.

6.7 Academic activities

- During my honors year we visited the company 3M in Johannesburg and we as a team of 6 had to prepare a detailed retail marketing plan that assisted 3M to expand the presence of their Scotch® and Post-it® brands in the Retail Channel.

- During my honors year we also conducted a service gap analysis for House of coffees.

6.8 Interest and hobbies

- I have an interest developing my creative skills by taking photos, editing photos, painting and drawing.

- I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy adventurous activities and playing with animals.

- I enjoy learning new aspects about people, languages, culture. And I love travelling.- I also have a interest in new fashion trends and arranging flowers.
