Responsibility for Dube TradePort vests in a Schedule 3C Provincial Public Entity, Dube TradePort Corporation, mandated to drive the development of:

• Dube Cargo Terminal: This state-of-the-art facility is one of the most secure of its kind in Africa and one of the most technologically advanced in

the world. It boasts South Africa’s first four flexible cargo stands and employs stringent access controls, computerised tracking and storage, as well as ‘in-line’ scanning. The

cargo terminal is capable of rapidly and safely handling

100 000 tonnes of cargo annually, increasing to 2

million tonnes by 2060. The facility prides itself on 0%

cargo loss, a record it has held since inception in 2010.

• Dube TradeZone: This specialised precinct provides prime, fully-serviced industrial real estate. It is ideally positioned for new-generation warehousing, logistics and distribution, manufacturing, assembling, air-related cargo distribution, high-tech aerospace services, electronic manufacturing, automotive industries, clothing, textiles and cold-storage activities.

This facility also houses freight forwarders and shippers in a single building, with airside access via direct connection with the adjacent Dube Cargo Terminal by way of an elevated cargo conveyor air bridge.

• Dube City: This facility is an ultra-modern urban ‘green’

hub, located three minutes from King Shaka International Airport’s passenger terminal complex. This world-class business and leisure centre lends itself to mixed land use, including office, hotel, conference, entertainment, retail and knowledge-intensive activities. It’s overall layout and design encompasses pedestrian-friendly zones,

a tree-lined boulevard, dedicated cycle lanes and open spaces. The business community has shown great interest in the A-grade office space on offer in Dube City, with some 40% of available development sites assigned or reserved. Earthworks on the first site are set to commence upon the completion of the municipal planning

approval process.

• Dube AgriZone: This facility, Africa’s first integrated perishables supply chain, hosts the continent’s largest climate-controlled growing area under glass. A forward-thinking agricultural business model, Dube AgriZone includes a mix of tenants and infrastructure positioning it as an end-to-end facility, from laboratory-based plant propagation and greenhouses, to on-site produce packaging and refrigerated air and road transport. Phase one is almost at capacity and phase two - an energy-efficient zone - is at an advanced stage of planning. Dube AgriZone comprises greenhouses, packhouses, a distribution centre, a nursery and a highly specialised tissue culture laboratory, Dube AgriLab. The facility employs a number of ‘green’ initiatives, such as rainwater harvesting, solar energy usage, on-site waste management and the growth of indigenous plants for site rehabilitation purposes.

The business operation zones within the Dube TradePort precinct are supported by Dube iConnect. Offering an advanced metro ethernet network and as a fully-licensed ICASA service provider, Dube iConnect provides

a world-class telecommunications, voice and broadband ITC platform, digitally linking precinct-based and surrounding business enterprises with each other and the world. It supports direct connection to high-speed international gateways through commercial partnerships with Tier 1 service providers with points of presence on-site.

Dube iConnect’s Data Centre, with infrastructure offering advanced virtualisation platforms, provides resellers with an infrastructure service platform, enabling them to offer hosted solutions to the market. The Data Centre also offers co-location (off-site data storage), comprising Modrac rackspace in a secure environment. Disaster Recovery solutions are also offered through the reseller base. UPCOMING PLANNED DEVELOPMENTS: DUBE TRADEZONE EXTENSIONS

HECTARES AVAILABLE IN 2016.

Dube TradeZone 1B is a zoned, 4,5ha portion of land whichis set to become available for development in 2015.

The development of this land will allow us to expand on the initial success of Dube TradeZone 1 and will ensure that Dube TradePort Corporation maintains the momentum of industrial growth.

Dube TradeZone 2 is the proposed second phase of Dube TradeZone 1 and will bring on-stream an additional 51 hectares in 2016.

This development, currently awaiting environmental approval, will be located to the west of the present Dube TradeZone, on the opposite side of the new uShukela (Watson) Highway link road.

This setting provides specifically for the planned and possible future expansion of Dube Cargo Terminal.

Dube TradePort Corporation and Tongaat Hulett Developments are developing a 135ha site, with an estimated available bulk of 536 000m². This forms a natural extension of both Dube TradeZone’s first and second phases.

The uShukela extension will provide for integration between the uShukela (Watson) Highway, Tongaat and the overall Dube TradePort precinct.

This high-end, industrial development will accommodate a business park comprising office complexes and commercial facilities, inclusive of retail amenities, warehousing and showrooms, as well as a range of light manufacturing and service enterprises.

First phase development encompasses an area of 12 hectares, increasing to 24 hectares upon completion of the second phase. This element of the development consists of 10 blocks, comprising 45 individual stands, all of which are level, fully-serviced and competitively priced.

Designed in line with the principle of sustainable development, Dube City is an urban ‘green’ hub, providing an ultra-modern, world-class and cosmopolitan business and leisure facility.
