The ADTRAN Total Access 1500 Dual FXS/DPO and Total Access 1500 Dual FXO/DPT provide for a two-wire 600/ 900 ohm + 2.16μF interface between a VF transmission and signaling facility and a PCM interface. The two units contain the necessary circuitry to convert two voice data signals from the customer’s loop to PCM digital data and to convert PCM digital data from the carrier to voice data. The primary applications in FXS or FXO mode are for providing an FX off-premise station line or an FX trunk from a PBX to a Central Office or special access service. In DPT mode, the primary application is to provide an interface to a two-wire pulse or multifrequency (MF) originating signal. A common application in Tandem mode is the ter- mination of Class IV toll switches. Private hot-line application connects a two phone set in a Private Line Auto Ring-down mode. In DPO mode, the primary application is to provide an interface to a two-wire dial pulse or multifrequency (MF) originating circuit. The Total Access 1500 Dual FXS/DPO channel unit can operate in FXS, Tandem, PLAR, and DPO mode. It has a TLP transmit input range of –9.0 to +0.0 dBm. The Total Access 1500 Dual FXO/DPT channel unit can oper- ate in either FXO or DPT mode. It has a TLP transmit input range of –7.0 to +9.0 dBm. Each has a TLP receive output range of –7.0 to +9.0 dBm. Provisioning is accomplished via the Total Access 1500 SCU craft interface. Up to 9.0 dBm transmit and receive attenuation is adjustable in 0.1 dB increments. Each unit is CLASS compatible, and performs a digital loop- back towards the network. The Total Access 1500 FXS/DPO will operate in loop start, ground start, and wink start signaling modes. ADTRAN’s new Carrier Class multiservice access platform, Total Access 1500, offers unmatched versatility for narrowband service offerings in the smallest form factor available. The platform integrates the functionality of many different carrier products into a single chassis. It features high den- sity, easy provisioning, flexible deployment, and low cost-per-port. The Total Access 1500 can terminate up to five individual T1s, using copper or fiber facilities to provide diverse network routing and protection. Deployed in either the central office or remote terminal, the Total Access 1500 provides a fast, simple, and effective means of increasing POTS capac- ity, deploying special services, and deploying DSL services.
