Note Worthy News night, July 24. Baxter (Hound Mix) and Checkers (Aussie Mix) ran CPE agility in Mebane. Checkers ran in the specialist (8 inches) class, and ran beautifully, gave me distance, and qualified with 8 seconds to spare. Baxter's second run was awesome. He was with me the whole time and even did a baby distance gamble. He ended up being .4 sec-onds short of qualifying because he chose to take a tunnel before he stopped the clock on the table. Checkers also Q’d once on

Saturday night.

However, the best was that Checkers ran APDT rally on Saturday and Sun-day. She ran 9 times and made the most of all of them. Scor-ing for APDT is 200 + 10 bonus for 210 points. She only scored less than 200 one time in Levels 1 and 2, and that was

because her su-perclutz handler ran into the broad jump boards hang-ing on the wall and knocked them on the floor, scaring Checkers half to death! Our one Level 3 run was just for fun and Checkers ended up being the only dog to qualify!

At the Greenville shows on July 24, 25 & 26 Sharon Framp-ton’s Rough Collie, Riser, was entered in Rally, Novice B. He scored a 100, 96 and 99 with a 4th place. So he's now titled with an RN. Excellent!

Melanie Tuttle and Oscar, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, earned his STAR puppy in class and headed off to Maryland over the July 4th weekend for conformation shows. There, he received a Reserve Winners Dog. In Greensboro three weeks later, he picked up his first two points towards his "Champion." He also earned his Canine Good Citizen on August 25.

Drum roll please! Sonny (Rottweiler) is now CH Hopehill-DeepRiver Son of a Gun. He finished in Greensboro on Sunday, August 9 with a 4 point major under judge Patricia Hess. All of his points (exactly 15) were from the Bred-by class, handled by his Owner, Lynn Deuterman. Along the way he earned several Best Bred by Exhibitor Breed wins and BBE Group I, II and III. Way to go!

Toby, a PW Corgi, owned by Paula Boothby, qualified for his Novice Std and Novice JWW titles, and has earned 2 legs to-wards his Open Std title at the summer agility trials in Sanford.

A huge brag from Laurie Schultz and her Australian Kelpies… at the Working Aussies of Virginia Herding Trial in Gladys, Virginia, on May 23 & 24, 2009 Windrush Nara earned her STDc,d, OTDc,d, and ATDs. Windrush

Boomer earned his STDs,d and OTDs,d. Nara took HIT other breed at both trials on Satur-day; HIT other breed Sunday AM, HIT ducks overall Sunday AM, and HIT Cattle overall Sunday PM, High Combined other breed for the weekend (all livestock all trials com-bined score). Boomer took HIT other breed Sunday PM and HIT ducks overall Sun-day PM. WOW! What a weekend!

Charlie, and English Cocker, owned by Ann Cantrell, finished his OAJ, July 5 at the Concord agility trials. Congratulations!

Also, at the Concord agility trials over the July 4th holiday, Amy English and Millie, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, went 2-for-2 in Open Jumpers and finished her OJP title with two 1st places. She also got two 1st places in Excellent A Standard to earn 2 legs towards her AXP. All were clean runs and well under SCT. Super Weekend!

Sandy Gunter writes about her Brittany Spaniels’ accom-plishments over the July 24 weekend… Lucky earned his RL1 title at the APDT rally. He "Q'd" in 2 out of his four runs. Sarge earned a title in the CPE agility trial with a "Q" in Wildcard and Colors, and earned his RL2 rally title, as well as "Q'ing" in his level 1 rally runs. Monty at his first rally event, earned his RL1 title (actually got a 200 once) and "Q'd" in all four runs.

At the Wigglebutts agility trial on Saturday evening, July 25 through until Sunday morning at 3AM the Kelpie kids got Q's in 4 out of 5 events each. Nara Q’d in Snooker—3rd place, Full-house— 1st place, Colors—2nd, and Wildcard—2nd at level 2 in 16" reg category. Boomer Q’d in Snooker—3rd, Full house - 3rd, colors—2nd, and wildcard—3rd at level 2, 20" reg category. A long night with some super runs!!!!

Denise Welk had an incredible weekend, starting on Friday
