A neighborhood constellation of arts organizations as dense as any in the state of Washington has organically formed on Capitol Hill around East Pike / Pine and 12th Avenue. Over the last 30 years, diverse arts groups have moved into this formerly light industrial area, also known as “auto row.” As this has happened without a coordinating plan or structure, few in the region are aware of the breadth of opportunities.
