HIGH SHEAR MIXER GRANULATOR

The Starch Paste kettle is a specially designed unit for preparation of binder material. It is a

hemispherical kettle with jacket mounted on trunion supports with the help of shaft. The kettle has a

small cylindrical top shell with a spout for pouring out binder mass.

 Jacket is provided with steam accessories i.e.

pressure guage, safety valve and vent cock. The Kettle is also provided with a lever with hand wheel to

accomplish tilting manually. The kettle is provided with 16 swg thick SS 304 loose lid.

Bottom discharge with flush bottom ball valve.

Mechanical tilting with worm / wormwheel arrangement. Motorised drive mechanism for tilting as

The kettle is provided with Anchor

RAPIDMIX -- High Shear Mixer Granulator is a versatile

machine developed for mixing as well a s granulation of

ingredients. The multi-bladed dual speed impeller is fitted close

to the base of the mixing bowl whereas the chopper is mounted

on the wall of the mixing bowl. Both the impeller as well as the

chopper have dual-speed options for gently distributing the

granulating solution as it is added and for fluidizing the charge

and creating the vortex of the material being mixed by both

 vertical and horizontal components.

STARCH PASTE KETTLE

The Turbosifter cum Multimill machine is used for high speed sieving and milling s imultaneously to achieve

uniform properties. Sieving and milling process is achieved by means of passing the dry granules through

Sifter and then passing through the Multimill. The time taken for the entire operation is less as compared to

 vibratory Sifter and Multimill individually. The process is less dusty and laborious.

Loader and Tipper Unit lifts Fluid Bed Drier b owl, tilts and charges dry powder / granules to the

hopper of Turbosifter cum Multimill. Dust free operation between LPU and Turbosifter cum Multimill is

ensured by interconnecting flexible Latex bellow.

SALIENT FEATURES

'LTU' is a simple stand alone unit allowing minimum

manpower and better GMP concept. It is ideal for linear flow and allows faster operation with

minimum dust generation and reduced changeovers.

Tilting Head is integral with the lifting head and housed on the yoke with horse shoe shaped Stainless

Steel lifting cradle.

The tilting degree of the cone is provided by double action hydraulic cylinder through specially

designed rack and pinion assembly.

Hydraulic Power pack is operated through a custom built panel with pushbutton station for Raising /

Lowering & Tilting, with limit switches for controlling the UP / DOWN traverse.

TURBOSIFTER CUM MULTIMILL WITHLIFTER AND TIPPER UNIT (LTU)

The Conta Blender is latest addition to the range of blenders which conforms to GMP

concepts. It gives uniform mixing / lubrication of powder / granules and better mixingefficiency as compared to conventional Blenders like Double Cone Blender, V ShapeBlender, Octagonal Blender, Polygonal Blender, etc.

It lays emphasis on dust free transfer of powders / granules at different stages from sizing /dispensing to compression / filling of tablets, capsules or dry powder.

The system consists of a mobile bunker, which is clamped to a rotating arm having liftingarrangement. The bunker is loaded with sized granules to be mixed and is clamped to therotating arm and locked. The material is tumbled in the partial void inside the bin for a pre-determined period. The Conta Blender rotates in a diagonal and eccentric plane, shufflingthe product intimately and resulting in homogenous blend within 5-20 minutes approx.Conta blender has flexibility of batch volume wherein varying size of containers can bemounted on a drive console, which is equipped with clamping arms.

0Design of arm is such that the shell is given a tilt of 15 , thereby giving uniform mixing / lubrication of powder / granules. The Conta Blenderis provided with mechanical stopper to the bunker trolley, to ease in locating and unloading the bunker after completion of mixing operation.The drive consists of a brake motor with helical gear box, which is coupled to the rotating arm shaft by gear coupling.

upward direction and drying the product to the required degree.

ADVANTAGES

In the Fluidaire Fluid Bed Dryer, the loaded wet material is

completely fluidised by a powerful stream of hot air, thereby

achieving high heat transfer rate and uniform temperature

distribution across the product. This results in reducing drying

time considerably and achieving high productivity in

comparison with other dryers. As the drying temperature is low

and duration is short, physical and chemical properties of the

product are generally not affected, thereby facilitating the use

of the dryer for heat sensitive products. Common problems

faced during drying such as lump formation, case hardening

etc. are minimised due to total fluidisation.

It is not recommended to dry liquids or pasty materials in the

Fluidaire Fluid Bed Dryer.

WORKING PRINCIPLES Atmospheric Air is drawn by means of a Blower and is passed

through a fine dust HDPE filter thereby freeing the air from

impurities. The pure air is subsequently heated by steam or an

electric heater. The temperature is controlled by means of apreset themostat or by a temperature regulator. Heaters are

electrically operated with thermostat controls and are made in

stainless steel 304. Electrical interlocking of heater and blower

is provided. Steam radiators can also be provided instead of

electrical heaters.

Steam radiators are suitable for operation at 3.5 kg. / sq. cm.

pressure having finned tube is provided in S S casing. A

suitable steam control manifold is provided with all S S or all

copper or combination of copper and S S or S S andaluminium construction depending upon the customer's

requirements.

The clean hot air stream flowing upwards, fluidises the batch offlowable moist material charged in the bowl. The product bowl

is equipped with a stainless steel mesh to facilitate air flow

through the material. A homogeneous distribution of

temperature is achieved as the hot air comes into contact with

the entire surface of individual particles during fluidisation,

resulting in rapid and effective drying of even the smallest

traces of residual moisture.

 A Bag filter provided in the filter chamber arrests the

particulates in the air flow. The particulates fall back into the

bowl when the bag shaker is set into operation at the end of

the working process. The air containing the moisture escapes

through the exhaust.

 An outlet air damper and inlet air damper regulates the

quantity of air.

The fluidising air for drying is drawn by the Blower located on thetop section of the Fluid Bed Dryer. (The Blower can also be

positioned elsewhere away from the Fluid Bed Dryer)

IMPORTANT 

In case the product contains solvents or inflammable

substances, it is essential that the Dryer is steam operated

and provided with a flame-proof motor.

Air Handling Unit consists of Inlet Air Filters

Three stage-filtering device for incoming air is provided. The filters

are mounted in a stainless steel housing. The details of the filters are

as follows:

- Primary filter 95% efficiency up to 20 microns.

- Intermediate filter ( EU 7 ) 95% efficiency up to 5 microns.- Final filter HEPA filters (EU 8) 99.9% efficiency up to 0.3

microns - Optional.

Retarding Chamber And Finger Bag Assembly:

This is a cylindrical shell with a dished end at the top, made out of

S S 304 or S S 316. The air outlet nozzle is provided on top for

connecting to exhaust air fan via suitable length of ducts. This

chamber houses the filter bag assembly provided with top ring

bracket for holding the finger bag and sealing ring with inflatable

tube gasket at the bottom. The retarding chamber is provided with

sight glass and a lamp.

Bag Shaking and Lowering Device:

This is a pneumatically operated specially designed three stage bag

Shaking arrangement. Proper design selection of stroke length and

predetermined shaking time helps, up & down movement of the

cylinder, giving jerks to the bag for dedusting.Gaskets :

Following gaskets are provided on the machine

- Bottom chamber and product container.

- Product container and retarding chamber.

- Inflatable tube gasket between sealing ring of finger bags and

retarding chamber wall.

Exhaust Air Blower:

Blower consists of centrifugal fan with backward curved impeller in

stainless steel / Aluminium/ MS painted . The impeller is mounted

directly on motor shaft.

Blower can also be supplied with Flame-proof construction

as an optional.

FLUID BED DRYERS

Explosion Vent with Rupture Disc:

Proper vent connection from retarding chamber is provided to

carry the inflammable solvent vapors along with hot air directlyto the atmosphere in case of any explosion or any excess

pressure built up. A rupture disc of appropriate material andthickness is provided in the explosion vent.

Sampling Device:

 A suitable sampling device is provided in the product container

to carry out periodical sampling & analysis of material being

dried as an optional.

Dampers:

 A butterfly damper is provided in the inlet and outlet air duct. A

lockable lever is provided for manual operation of the damper.

Damper can alternatively be provided with a Rotary motorisedactuator with indication of % opening in MMI panel as an

option.

Damper closes automatically when the bag shaking cycle starts

and opens once the shaking cycle is over.Earth Safety Relay: 

During fluidization static charge may develop due to productcharacteristic and heavy turbulent condition inside the retarding

chamber. A safety earth circuit relay is provided to discharge

static charge developed during fluidisation.

Clean In Place (CIP) System can be provided as an Option.

PRODUCT CONTAINER (BOWL) SEALING

The product bowl is hermetically sealed with the retarding

chamber. The sealing is done by means of a hand operatedlever or through a pneumatically operated bowl lifting &

sealing arrangement with inflatable gasket which ensuresproper sealing of the bowl to the retarding chamber. Ensure

that the lifting platform is in the same plane for proper sealing

of the bowl with the retarding chamber.

AIR DUCTS (USER'S SCOPE)

Suitable ducts must be provided for the air inlet and outlet

from outside the external wall, close to which the dryer is

installed.

It is recommended to draw the air from outside the room

 where the dryer is installed.

 Avoid all unnecessary resistances (like narrow bends etc.)

 A suitable rain protection cowl with bird mesh is to be

provided at the end of each duct to prevent rain, dust etc.

from entering the duct.

The ducts can be fabricated from Mild Steel or Stainless

Steel material.

 Fluid Bed Dryers are also supplied with solid flow monitor as

an optional feature for detecting product leakage from filter

bag and to trip the blower motor.

The Octagonal Blender is useful for

mixing dry powder and dry

granules due to its octagonalshape. The mixer is rotated at a

slow speed and has a removable

baffle mounted through

rectangular openable lid. It

occupies less space as compared to

other blenders like V and Cone

blenders.

The Double Cone Blender is an efficient

and versatile machine for mixing Dry

Powder and Granuals homogeneously.Two-thirds of the volume of the Cone

products & cosmetics units.
