    GI: Nausea and

    Assess type, location,and intensity of painbefore and 2-3 hr (peak)

    after administration. Assess BP & RR before

    and periodically duringadministration.Respiratory depressionhas not occurred withrecommended doses.

    Prolonged use may leadto physical andpsychological

    dependence andtolerance

    Proton pumpinhibitor

    Indication:Treatment ofheartburn orsymptoms ofGERD

    Contraindication:

    Administer on an emptystomach at least 1 hourbefore a meal.

    Advise patient to notifydoctor immediately if theyhave abdominal pain or

    diarrhea because drugcan interfere withabsorption of vitaminB12, monitor for anemia.

    Indication: used totreat a wide variety ofbacterial infections

    Contraindications:History of allergicreactions to penicillins,cephalosporins, or

    beta-lactamaseinhibitors;hypersensitivity to anycomponent of theproduct.

    Tazobactaminhibits beta-lactamases thusensuring activityof piperacillinagainst beta-lactamaseproducing

    microorganisms.Thustazobactambroadens theantibioticspectrum ofpiperacillin tothose bacterianormallyresistant to it.

    GI: nausea

    GU : Urineretention, painfulurination.

    Drug is given every8-12hrs as directed. Followdilution, dosageguidelines.

    Report and sign ofsuperinfection (blackfurry overgrowth on

    quinolone antibiotics

    It interferes withDNA by

    inhibiting DNAsynasereplication insusceptiblegram-negativeand gram-positivebacteria,preventing cellreproduction.

    GI: Nausea, drymouth

    Skin: itchiness,muscle and jointtenderness

    Administer oral drug 1 hrbefore or 2 hr after meals

    with a glass of water

    Ensure that patient iswell hydrated duringcourse of therapy.

    Advise patient to avoidsun exposure or usesunscreen to preventphototoxicity.
