Describe the Topic - In groups write 6-10 words describing

drug use. - I will ask the class to tell me the words

and I will make a list and write the words on the whiteboard.

Step 2: Create Direct Analogies- Describe a famous athlete or public

figure who reminds you of the words written on the board.

- Give the rationale for why that individual was chosen.

Step 3: Describe Personal Analogies- Ask students to view reality from the

perspective of the athlete or public figure.

- Encourage students to explain why they had that particular feeling.

Step 4: Identify Compressed Conflicts- Ask students to view the list of words

and pair together words that seem to be in conflict with each other or fight each other.

- Write down on board the pairs that each group came up with.

group ask students to create another direct analogy (animal).

- Write down the animal each group comes up with on the board.
